Mistweaver isn’t in a great spot in raid to say the least. We’re pretty much bottom of the ladder outside of Ovinax gusts of mists cheese build. We don’t bring much utility or good raid cooldowns, we historically brought hps. So where is our HPS?
Currently revival’s healing is basically a joke and just a way to reduce the cooldown of our celestial. It’s generally barely outhealing the fiery resolve weapon enchant.
The entire general gameplay loop of mistweaver is to spread as many renewing mists as possible, and use them to have your vivify cleave on them with Invigorating Mists. Then why is our healing becoming WORSE as we get more renewing mists out. Because of square root scaling on invigorating mists. You get better hps by avoiding talents like dancing mists and pool of mists, and just relying on Rising Mists and hard casting renewing mists on players because then you won’t have as many HoTs out so your vivifies will actually heal.
The spec in it’s current iteration is arguably the funnest it’s ever been, the gameplay is super fun, we’re awesome in M+, it’s just our actual raw output in raid is beyond horrendous.

Second this, Revival in raids feels kinda bad.
Life cocoon also feels pretty meh. Change to calming coalescence was good on paper for builds that didn’t take soo mist, but it’s another -20% of absorb effect I just lost. Feels bad.
Square root scaling on invigorating mists needs to go.

I agree with the points you guys are making here.
It’s super embarrassing watching a tank get one shot by something WITH Life Cocoon on.
The gameplay itself is fun but the numbers are bustedly bad for a healer that has no good raid cooldowns.

When I joined my new raid group for this expansion and started raiding, I had to explain to them that my 3min raid Cd wasn’t actually a Raid Cd and maybe a 10% heal on everyone if I was lucky. Revival sucks right now and it’s kinda laughable how bad it really is. Honestly, they could just straight take off the reduction beyond 5 targets and it would probably be fine.

I feel pretty good in raid but I have been dipping my toes into m+ and it kinda feels bad to spend 5 weeks gearing haste/crit for our oddball rising sun kick vivify raid build and then see all top m+ monks running haste/mastery for fistweaving :c
I feel like a caster build is so much safer in a pug environment than a fistweaving build.
I know at high key levels fistweaving is objectively better, but being able to rip high HPS on everyone without necessarily needing to be in melee range is nice/safe.
This of course still means dpsing some, interrupting, using leg sweep/RoP/paralyze, etc. it’s not just stand 30 yards away and ignore half of the monk’s toolkit.

Yeah the keys I have done I did in a caster build and I modified it this week to take sith lightning and cone rsk for a little more damage but I’m not sure I wanna do enough m+ to completely re-gear into mastery.

I used m+ build in raid, with new changes it was fun, beefed up jade lightning is awesome when there is aoe damage coming in.

Ya, it’s fine on farm content, but on prog it just feels like Ancient Teachings scales atrociously bad at the moment. I ran AT in some parts of Amirdrassil and it didn’t feel nearly as bad as it does now.
