Mistweaver 11.2 Feedback/Wishlist, Amped Up

This feedback is part of my healer feedback and wishlist on every healer for 11.2. I have every healer at 680+, 3100 io+, HoF CE on most of them (probably all of them soon), and my current highest IO is over 3800. I am not an expert but I feel as though my credentials are probably above the average person’s.

Mistweaver received a lot of attention going into 11.0 and 11.1 and after years of neglect that’s been a breath of fresh air. I actually have very few complaints with Mistweaver as a whole, I think the class is largely insanely strong with a lot of cool and niche things they can do. I only have two major complaints and one is purely a complaint.

11.2 Feedback

No major complaints for 11.2 specifically. The title was a reference to MW’s 90 different healing amps (Enveloping Mist, Shaohao’s, Chi Harmony, etc) stealing from their baseline power but that was just changed last week before I posted this so I no longer need to comment on it.

Fun, and this one is subjective

In Raid there are largely two viable builds for Mistweaver, however the majority of players choose the “Yulon” build. This is pretty cool because supporting two play-styles is pretty hard to do especially with 2 Hero talents for 4 possible combinations.

I love the current Meta M+ build for Mistweaver. However whether you choose Conduit or Aspect you basically always play the same build, and you play it basically the same way. The title there says ‘partially’ subjective because the Hero talents were made to add variety. Between two Hero talents I think it’s okay if all the same talents are picked if you play the class in a different capacity (obviously if different talents are picked the playstyle is almost assuredly different so that’s a given). An example of this is Prot Warrior. Warriors take basically all of the same talents between Thane and Colossus. That’s okay because Thane has a much higher priority on thunderclap, much less priority on revenge, more rage generation, way better snap-threat and 1.5 less defensives. So when you swap to either Hero tree, you feel it. It does feel different to play even if 99% of the talents are the same. Just something to break up the gameplay. Personally I think MoH should steal the TFT CDR from Conduit and Conduit should have a node that buffs their celestials more or something but to each their own and that’s just my opinion.

I always struggle to do my 8 Weekly keys on my Mistweaver because I just get bored. Every other class except Druid I can do my 8 Weekly keys and still be ready to do 8 more because I’m just having fun testing builds and trying different hero talents even if they are sub-optimal… Mistweaver I’m bored after just 4 Keys usually. There is basically no way to make Caster or Rushing wind build work in M+ without feeling super janky. There are some keys timed without Jadefire and even fewer without Ancient Teachings… There’s a reason like 95% + of the keys are played the exact same way. And like I said it’s not that you can’t play without a few talent changes but the result doesn’t even feel good or close to as good as the meta build… So for me personally I always return to the meta build. And if there was even a trade off like “Yes I chose to do less damage but do more healing” or vice versa, that’d be fine. But the build that does the most damage, also does the most healing lol.

So yeah, my only gripe here is I just wish there was slightly better support for a caster play-style in M+ or better distinction of playstyles between Conduit and Master of Harmony.

“i play all healers and I’m probably better than you”

… proceeds to hate on the melee playstyle for no empirical reason.

This must be rage bait

Why was Vivify nerfed by 80% in pvp?

I really don’t agree.

I disagree personally and think conduits play style is far superior in terms of mechanics and fun. MoH is either the most boring or most irritating hero talents I’ve ever played with depending on iteration. Most people will disagree with me but I’ve tended to run unusual things that most people do not (like dance of chiji, tea of plenty, etc.)

I do feel that MoH leans more into casting and feels like a slow glass canon hoping to find a window to use harmony without the soul sucking misery of allies eating all of it.

Conduit lets you be so incredibly aggressive in keys and pvp that it’s the most fun I’ve had with the spec and as my main I’ve had a lot of fun with this spec. I’d actually prefer to see MoH deleted and shadowpan be the other option cause even on Brew I won’t play MoH under any circumstances. For any reason. I really don’t like it. But again I’m probably an outlier here.

NO. Absolutely not this is core to what makes conduit so amazing as a hero talent and why I played it when it was F tier, S tier, whatever tier. Idc what MoH has, more tea + more cocoon = thank god I get to play the game like an agile quick person instead of praying it comes up soon or that everything goes perfectly to plan as to not waste teas outside of the plan in my head for when I want to use them (terrible for pugs.)

It’s the most fun spec in the game imo especially among healers. None of them have anything on mw gameplay and they should absolutely make fistweaving strong again–high risk high reward is amazing gameplay with opportunities for high skill expression. And nothing is more dangerous than maxing your melee uptime. Waiting for tea to cd or rsk not resetting through rotation is just actual time gating.

I’m kinda joking in some of this (delete master of harmony) but I’ve said my opinions about it so many times and the change notes don’t seem to reflect (at all) that blizzard is tapped into what fist weavers want. Nor have they tapped into what the general mist weaver community wants.

You’ll see the same complaints here every single day, week, month, and you’re lucky–LUCKY–if they fix zen flight. Wanna know what I mean? Conduit has been cancelling itself for 2 seasons and it still HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.

The monk dev is like that meme of the skelaton at the bottom of the ocean.

because its baseline was increased by 80%.

Are we reading the same post?

Understatement of the century. But ya, agree completely.

I miss S1 MW already, fast, powerful in the right hands, high skill ceiling, very rewarding gameplay. Now it’ll be TFT + JE into vivfy spam. TP, BoK, RSK, SCK will be idle fillers you use for procs.

Apparently fun was detected and even though they’re not even S tier, they had to be nerfed…
