These mobs in the maze of Mists are deleting tanks on pull. I know they get “empowered” next to the other mobs, but it feels like SUPER over powered attacks, and if you have two of them their anima slash stacks and absolutely wrecks. Either reduce the dmg or please allow this slash to be dispelled. Their damage profile is beyond any other trash pack that I’ve encountered. I was expecting to see them nerfed on Tuesday, but there’s no mention of these mobs at all.
The anima slash is wrecking me, I can get through with defensives but getting consecutive pulls with these guys, and then there being two of them leaves me naked and then dead.
The stacking is what’s making it so painful. I agree that they could probably either make it non stackable or dispelable.
AMS, vampiric embrace, tombstone, AmZ, lichborne, rune tap, IBF. DK has 4433532 cds to deal with tank bursters. If you die through cds then look for aug. If even aug can’t save you then it’s your DK’s limit. DK always has the lowest oneshot threshold than other tanks.
I did mist 11. The dmg from anima slash wasn’t that dangerous for warrior. I can spell reflect it for juicy milions of dmg.
Having tank CD’s for these are great, but they do indeed have finite potential. If these abilities are the highest tank busters in the dungeons, then it’s completely fine to complain and get blizzard to normalize their damage profile. Their damage just happens to be outliers for dungeon trash that I’ve encountered. I’m happy for you that you’ve never struggled with 2 of these guys at once.
Tanks must hit their limits sooner or later due to dungeons’ infinite scaling, then people will think of strats to cheese the oneshot mechanics. For example the icy slashes from the dragons in the 2nd boss room in Azure Vault. Typically, you pop all of your cds to live the first few slashes and play kiting meta game. But it was still one of the best dungeons to push. No one cares about tank bursters. We have to find a way to deal with them by ourselves. If 1 cooldown can’t save you, use 2 cds at once then run when they are down.
You struggle with the guadians in Mist, I struggle with the pirate slashers in the first area in SoB, their bleed hurts, but BDK should have easy time to deal with bleeds.
Different tanks different damage intake profiles.
I’ve only done up to a 9, but the only pull that gives my BDK any grief is the double Vanguard at the start of Necrotic Wake. Guardians in Mists are pretty chill for me.
You need to have a soothe in the group.
I don’t know why they haven’t nerfed Anima Slash already.
It has infinite range and just absolutely shreds the tank unless they’re getting heals funneled into them.
Not that this is a fix by any means, but having a DK in the group can pretty much nullify this mech via Anti-Magic Shell + Unyielding Will Talent + Vestigial Shell Talent. This also cheese’s the final boss Link ability.
It’s cast every 15s or so. You literally aren’t AMZing the 6-8 that goes off before the mobs die.
Imma be honest I haven’t had any tanks I’ve played with even mention this mechanic.
The double guardian packs get me on the edge of my seat on my tank/healer. They can also instantly delete the tank from 100% to 0% in the opener if they walk in there without a defensive already up.
I’m not talking about AMZ, it’s AMS. To that point, it only gets rough towards the end when defensives are used up if the encounter is being dragged out.
A great tank had me spamming ST but nothing too wild, but a tank that doesn’t understand that pack gets 100 percent demolished as you said.
Sure, anima slash hits hard, but if your tank is being deleted on pull, he mismanaged his cooldowns. As a warrior, spell reflect will bounce the millions of damage back - don’t ask why it works: it just does. You should be charging in with your avatar + demo shout combos and you are virtually unkillable in this window. If you don’t have your avatar CD window, you need to shield wall or last stand early into the pull. Those buttons are not oh shi- buttons: you are expected to weave them in a lot during keys since their CDs really are not that long. And if you’re still struggling that hard, take spell block talent: the slash does zero damage. And that is how you approach the solution to this problem.
Well, that’s their fault then, you always open a pull with a defensive cd.
Yes way overtuned compared to anything else in the dungeon
I haven’t been able to get AMS to cheese the link like it could during Shadowlands… Pretty sure they changed it.
It worked the other day, maybe you are too far from the tank?
