With MoP on the horizon, I’m curious as to how the Classic devs will handle cross-realm being a thing. Back in the days of late 2011 (December 2nd, 2011 to be specific), Blizzard had released the ability for players to play with each other via cross-realm with patch 4.3.0! This was late Cataclysm, and I really hope this is the case going into the release of Mists of Pandaria Classic. I don’t want to leave my current server and yet the guild I want to raid with is on a different server. The ability to be invited cross-realm for raids and PvP would be a very good addition to Classic, as how it was back in 2011!
I agree, there’s no reason that classic shouldn’t have the exact same capabilities as the game had in the past. Functionality should be as it was. Any limitations beyond the limitations at the time are unacceptable. After all it’s 2025 there’s no excuse for the game to be worse now than it was 15 years ago.
Back when the feature came out it was only for old xpac zones, not the current stuff, and we were promised the system would never ever be applied to current content.
The real solution is to just mega server it all. But i think that requires more than just throwing a ptr or beta up and ignoring it until release day. So dont hold your breath.
That’s not a solution it’s the day I quit and I’m not the only one who hates megaservers. Atiesh feels like the right size for a server at least on alli side.
Im sure the game would be fine without you.
I’m sure the game would be fine without you too. But the game wouldn’t be fine if significant numbers of players leave. I’d never suggest blizzard split up the megaservers because I hate them. That’s because I look at the broader picture of the health of the game and you’re a selfish narcissist.
Of course it would! Its why I don’t sit around saying “if they do this I am out” because I know that’s child’s talk. Also the assumption that you have some sort of vast insight that we… the normals… cannot see because I suppose I am a selfish narcissist… lol…
Ironic.
Jeez, what kind of nonsense is this? I don’t know if you’re normal or not but you’ve proved you’re stupid. Everyone know that many people like megaservers and many people hate them. Eliminating either type of server would likely result in a loss of subs. That wouldn’t be good for a game that is losing subs every expansion. That’s just common sense. There are some complete idiots that say the megaservers should be split up. There are other brain dead morons like you who think there should be one large megaserver. Most of the players want there to be servers for both groups of players.
CRZ was patch 5.0.4 in MoP, actually.
Why you be lyin tho?
You seem awfully upset with all the insults. If I were you I would walk it off. I cannot say I ever got so mad about a video games nuts and bolts as it gets down to server sizes… lol… chilling probably is needed here.
I would just make the whole game a megaserver. I get it makes you upset, but I think about the games health over my personal desires. Feel free to keep lobbing shots… I am sure eventually… no… no it probably won’t ever bother me. So have a nice day!
Blizzard has made a lot of stupid decisions over the years but they not nearly as stupid as you. There will be no whole game megaserver. The reasons for that are clear. Only a idiot couldn’t see them.
You seem worked up again. I get it. You don’t like people stating the obvious solution you don’t like.
Thankfully it will happen one way or the other. Blizzard can just do it or they can just have grave yard locked servers. All things are pointing that direstion.
Just best to go ahead and mega server it. Its the absolute best solution.
I call it as I see it. I get that you’re used to getting encouragement and a participation award for what ever you do but that’s not what I do. When you’re an idiot I’m gonna call it out for what it is.
When youre upset you draw some wild conclusions and connect some wild dots. I understand.
So me understanding the megaserver is best thing means I am seeking a participation trophy? Hmm… ok. I hope you get to feeling better. Im sure it will be like when the megaserver happens right… you will be mad… call people names… maybe quit or whatever… but the rest of us will understand the humor in it and get a good laugh.
Still temper temper. Its ok I understand your feelings. The superiority of mega servers isnt for everyone. When it eventually happens either by Blizzards doing or by the playerbases hand through transfers I will be here to support you.
Its just so obvious megs servers are the solution this game needs to fix itself. Very happy its coming one way or another.
To be fair… retail is more or less one big mega server for all intents and purposes now. So it isn’t entirely out of the question for Blizzard to go all in once CR things start happening. It wouldn’t be the first time they pulled something from future expansions.
I haven’t played retail since BfA so I can’t comment on it. But I don’t see how lfg or trade chat can be useful if more than 127k of us are on one server. Everything would scroll by so quickly you wouldn’t be able to read it. On Atiesh with only 5k alli it’s sometimes hard to find the mailbox near the AH to click on it, and there are two of them near the AH in Stormwind. With 26 times as many on the server the AH, the mailboxs nearest to it, and the bank would be over whelmed. That’s two of many issues I have with the mega servers.
For all intents and purposes means there are differences but they are inconsequential. What are the differences because they may be very consequential indeed.
I’m fairly confident that there was no cross-realm raiding outside of LFR in Cataclysm.
