Sorry not sorry but Cata has been like a wet unexpected fart, just like Cata OG was. Virtually no one left, declining interest not even LFR to chew up some time?
So yeah maybe claw back some of that 400 million Blizzard paid to bobby Kotick to lay off tons of workers and hire them back to get this thing rolling
So, the same as every other expansion several weeks into the final patch?
Don’t get me wrong I love Pandaria and am more than happy to get it sooner rather than later, but the insistence that Cata has somehow been the death knell for the game is just absurd cope. Cata Classic had more active players for most of its run than any other version of Classic, with the only exception being the start of SoD
Edit: oh right SoD came out before Cata Classic, so that doesn’t apply either
My original plan was to stick with Enhancement through Pandaria, but after deciding to swap to tank so our blood dk could swap to warlock, I find myself looking way more forward to playing Brewmaster. I’m especially curious to see how it does in Dragon Soul in prepatch, since there wasn’t an opportunity for that back in OG
Yeah, I wish I could be amassing gold for MoP, I’m going to faction transfer to Horde when MoP hits. Alliance is dead on my server and Horde is like 10x the player count, you can only bring 50k per toon and I’m taking 6 which is 300k… And I already have 300k.
This xpac started bleeding players in the first content patch.
Firelands brought some people back for a month and then again it drained people then the last raid came and brought nobody back.
Cata is just simply not a good xpac.
And TotGC exacerbated the burnout because… Can’t speak for everyone but I’d assume most guilds would want to continue doing Ulduar for legendaries.
Brew has always been the best tank in the game even in current retail when WW or MW aren’t meta at tanking huge single physical hits and converting the damage to a DoT over 10 seconds.
You also have Elusive Brew which scales up your dodge as you get higher stats.
You pretty much always gear for DPS since Stagger scales with Agility. Very hard spec to play but for physical melee hits or environmental physical damage, it’s the best. Best tank for Challenge Mode dungeons as well.
For tanking a bunch of smaller hits, something like a Prot Warrior is more effective.
I personally think Cata is a bad expansion with some really good content. The raids overall are really good but other than that there’s really nothing to do. They did an okay job with heroic+ but I just don’t enjoy the launch dungeons anymore lol.
MoP has too much to do and gets better and better as the phases open up. Notably 5.2 onward with Isle of Thunder, Timeless Isle and all the world bosses/content available.
The way every class plays in MoP is a major step up from Cata aside from maybe DK. The DK talents aren’t super interesting and class changes are very minor QoL.
But Hunter, Warrior, Warlock, Shaman and Combat rogue I know are a lot better to play in MoP.
