What stupid mistakes did you make in your Vanilla, or WoW Career that you don’t plan on repeating this go around?
Mine are:
Heck running to Ironforge on day 1, from Darnassanowhere.
Screeeeeewww druid in the eye with a rusty fork, I am not playing this red-headed stepchild of a class again. WARLOCK BABY! ORC WARLOCK!
Also Undead Priest, Tauren Shaman, and … Troll… Something. Human mage too.
I can’t wait to do ALL THE QUESTS instead of just streamlining to 60 so my guild can force me to go resto and heal.
How bout you, what lessons have you learned and how will you DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME?!

I swam to wetlands from Westfall. I don’t plan on doing that again…

Not being 14 with half a brain trying to pretend i know what i’m doing, and actually progressing through the game. Big mistake.

First time playing I leveled a Night elf priest as holy. It was the worst… But along the way I did find a krull blade which paid for my mount at 60.

Fell off Teldrassil tree.
Attempted to get my body by jumping off. Overshot the jump, and fell significantly further down to the bottom as a wisp. Proceeded to float around for an hour or more before I finally got the courage to fatigue kill myself again.
Thankfully someone over general chat was nice enough to tell me about resurrecting at the graveyard’s angel.

This mistake ive made with the last several mmos ive tried to play, not wow.
I burned myself out by power-levelling with a friend. most recently, i got BDO on launch and I just grinded to max level and the MOMENT i got to max i quit the game. I hated it because of all the stupid grinding i had done.
Can’t wait to take my time but also to be playing a game that was designed for the levelling process to take a while.

I did the same but other way around because I was hoping to find a way to hop the mountain haha… Only took like 2 hours.

Like you, forget hybrids except as my support alts. Go with the hunter 1st to feed stuff to my warrior main.

I leveled my first character from 1 to 60 as a prot paladin. I just assumed it took everyone that long to kill stuff and had no idea how much I weighted myself down.

This time I’m a lot more knowledgeable about the game so I won’t be doing things like randomly picking abilities and not knowing my rotation. I also have more knowledge about things like how to earn gold.
I’ll also know what stats to aim for, on my 1st Paladin in Classic I think I prioritized every stat at one time or another not really being sure which ones I should aim for. At one point I was even looking for agility gear thinking my agility was too low.

Another big thing for me this time is that I’m gonna slow way down and actually level my professions at the pace of my character leveling. There’s no reason that a 55 mage should be making 6 slot bags…

Oh man, this so much! I played on dial-up and it was awful waiting days for patches to download!
@Doranos
I feel you, I levelled this character in Vanilla with moonfire spam and spent most of my 1-60 as a corpse or smacking things with my staff.
I was such a fool…
@Saie and @Ikethespike
I did both of these things, because a friend was a dwarf so I wanted to level with him. Ran to Ironforge.
Then someone told us there was a secret base in the Ironforge mountains, so we spent like six hours jump spamming up a mountain.

Well i have a plan this time, already joined a guild, have a raiding spot secured, going to focus on my main for a long while until everything is set up instead of goofing around.
Funnily enough i’m going Druid because of the Jack-of-all-Trade aspect as i plan to mostly focus on group play, so i plan to Heal in raids and Tank in 5man.
