Mistakes are understandable, but the silence over the Scarab Lord event is unacceptable

Look; I get that all of the WoW teams have been pumping out content at a breakneck pace. MoP Classic was always going to take precedent, and that is perfectly understandable. Similarly, mistakes happen; it’s a live service game, these things happenc it’s usually no biggie.

But the Scarab Lord event is the exception here.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime event that a LOT of people poured a LOT of time into. For the event to encounter issues that literally prevented players from being able to complete the event as normal is simply not acceptable.

But what’s truly troubling is the complete and utter silence from Blizzard on this.

Look; you guys screwed up.

It happens.

But you need to be able to acknowledge when things go awry, and make some kind of effort to do right by the players.

Why not just set a date to re-enable the gong? Or heck, why not just leave it active until Naxx drops? There’s no getting around the fact that some folks abused RMT to get their Scarab Lord, so it’s not like it has the same level of prestige as the OG Scarab Lords anyways, but for a lot of us, this event was THE reason to play new vanilla servers again. Having the event end prematurely, screwing loads of people out unfairly, just isn’t right.

It would be courteous to respond to you on the game’s own forum but they seem to be more willing to engage on socials like x/bluesky.
Maybe try there as well.

Good luck.

LOL get rekt. Maybe don’t wait till the last minute to finish next time and have people scouting the gong.

Imagine wasting all that time and not ringing the gong because you thought things would go as planned and you had everything figured out and were so clever.

Always expect the unexpected. You learned a life lesson. Other guilds managed to figure this out so you could have as well.

Nah aggrend went silent and they ignore anything era related

anniversary baby girl

Which is their first and most significant mistake. A group of well-intentioned but wholly inept group of bunglers like Blizzard should spend more time maintaining their active games instead of thinking up new crap.

Vanilla related*

Does this suggest that you believe RMT wasn’t an issue at other times throughout WoW’s history?

Of course not. They didn’t have cash app back then or discord!

100% agree with and support the OP.

The largest and best voice anyone apart of the Real Classic Playerbase has, is that of their subscription.

I agree with you in principle it’s some clown behavior from blizz. Sadly I doubt they care and you will not see any resolution of the issue

The salt this event farms is more legendary than the mount.

No one should care about a short term achievement like that… After anniversary hit wrath the cycle will end and realms will be wiped for either a repeat or straight up deletion.

They’ve had no blue posts talking about any anniversary era or permanence

There’s… zero indication any of that would happen. Is there something you’ve seen to suggest any of that?

In any case, it’s definitely concerning. Like I said, I totally get MoP Classic is the top priority, but there should be some kind of communication. This is a major event, and it’s not one that ever comes back; it is not okay to screw it up, and not do something to make it right.

Its basically SoM 2… Only this time its a test for the 3 expacs going into rotation on auto pilot.

So its either telling us they plan to reset and rotate the first 3 expacs on a set yearly schedule…

Or its just a time waster while they build and perfect Classic+ like they did with SoD when we were busy with SoM 1 and wrath classic release.

I’m just going off their patterns and we all know how blizzard eventually does things, they do this for a reason and most of the time we can predict their release schedules based on the past or gaps in the patches.

Imagine missing the 10 hour war because it never happened and now you can’t get into a guild because you don’t have the rep to buy tier gear after your guild fell apart because people can’t get their tier gear to kill the content…

Anniversary is not Era.

It’s era right now. Either way they ignore both

But it never was Era, its Anniversary and has different rules from Era.

Era allows all loot system.
Era has no Dual spec.
Era does not move on to TBC.
Era is forever.
