Like with everything else, they don’t act on things until they can find a way to politicize it.
People should have learned about time zones in grade school. If they haven’t managed it by now they are hopeless.
EST and EDT are the exact same thing. The slight nuance between the two is completely irrelevant. It could be changed to simply ET and no one would be confused in the slightest.
I couldn’t agree more. There ALREADY is more daylight in the summer. Makes zero sense to “extend” it (and screw everyone’s sleep up in the meantime).
An easy solution is that the Battle.net launcher should just pull your system’s local time and date and tell you when things should ideally be up in YOUR LOCAL TIME AND DATE, Solved.
Also, Anyone who thinks daylight savings time is a good thing needs to be removed from power, There is absolutely zero use and need for it.
i’ve had to use google’s thing every time, and blizzard’s servers still tend to be down when the time rolls around… starting to think it’s not a conversion problem, and it’s a ‘blizzard’s best guess when the game’ll be back’ problem.
The only reason this is accurate is because, as far as I know, the entire Eastern time zone observes the change between Daylight and Standard at the same time. This isn’t true everywhere.
“Most” of Arizona (not the Navajo Nation, apparently!) is now, and always, on MST. Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming are all on MDT at the moment. That’s despite Arizona being on “Mountain Time” with the rest of them. So it’s just not foolproof.
And once you get up into Canada, you’ve got the same alleged time zones being observed in varying locales, with or without DST observance. It matters.
AcTuaLLy, the bill that the Senate passed and will hopefully pass in the House, will make it Daylight Savings Time all the time.
It’s actually possible to teach yourself how to understand time zones. It’s really a matter of arithmetic.
