I think removing them is pointless but whatever. It’s not like their development time cost us some decent content anyways. It took you a couple minutes a day to send out the missions and you earned some extra goodies for it. If you didn’t want to do it, then you didn’t have to.
Just a other example of the corners Blizzard is cutting to produce the next low effort x-pack.
No matter if you like it or not…I always enjoy these threads discussing the benefits of getting less from the game while paying the same amount
Yeah maybe. I never really thought brawlers guild was popular but yeah they probably would’ve had more success if they kept the legion table. Even that got lame after a while though.
It was/is a time sink and I’ll be glad to see it gone.
However, I did play it; I would get five characters running the mission tables for passive gold, pet tokens, mats and more. It did work and serve a purpose.
How will they fill its loss?
They won’t and apparently many players will be grateful for the loss of passive gold and materials
Well, the Mission Tables are a timesink, so I’m not sure why they’re removing it.
But to answer your actual question, yes, I would rather there be a fun activity than a Mission Table in the next expansion.
Do I think there WILL be a fun activity replacing the timesink of a Mission Table, that would be repeatable, and as big of a timesink as a Mission Table would be?
(unlikely, but there’d better be, or people will invest less time in the game, and quit the expansion sooner, which they probably do not want)
no,
blizzard needs to re-orient their devs and their thinking, removal of this feature will force them to think more creatively and more critically about what they put out
a re-hash of something that was stepped down from WoD … what, 3 times now? A break from this is a very good thing.
EDIT: and I’m generally not overly critical of the tables, they are … cute. But they overdid it with SL, christ, 4 of them? You can only access 1 at a time? That’s just design that wasn’t thought through. Captain-obvious bad. And if that happened, then yeah, this strong step of doing away with it is probably what the designers need.
I am not sad to see it go. I would prefer to actually play the game, than to have companions do it for me.
They’ll also be grateful to pay x3 times as much for Augment Runes because Augment Runes will only come from LFR/LFD.
I’ve seen some folks trying to cope telling themselves Blizzard will remove Augment Runes in Dragonflight and that gives me a laugh.
How so?
the game thrived with better stuff without the mission table. it needs a higher quality level again with not just big ideas but big ideas that have been beaten to hell and worked out and rewritten and tested many many times. That’s work, hard creative work. and … not jsut big either, lots of little good ideas too.
It doesn’t need a phoned-in re-hash of the table. It’s potentially a good starting point.
I hope Blizz sticks to their guns with that anti-bloat policy. And the extremely anti-immersive mission table is really kicked out of this game.
Are they going to remove them from the game or just the expansion?
Bloat is a buzzword.
TBA: Dragon missions! Crazy Dragon Taxi! Dragon Road Rage!
Pick up stranded players who can’t fly and deliver them to their destinations.
LOL,that might happen.
No. I had fun in Shadowlands, but I guess starting playing it this Januar helped me a lot. I missed out on most of the bloat and the grind. And also I never play alts.
