Missing Traders Credits

Over the weekend I completed the Traders Goal by finishing up 1100 points worth of tasks for the trading post. When I went to claim my prize and credits I received exactly 100 credits no mount and 1000 less credits than I earned. Tuesday I was able to claim the mount and 500 credits. I checked my credit balance and instead of 600 credits I had only 500 credits. You not only shorted me credits you took away the balance I had. I put in another bug report missing 600 credits I earned. Tuesday morning I log in and I’m once again able to access the Trader Chest and I was awarded 500 more credits, I check my balance and I only have 500 credits still 600 less than what I earned.
Did anyone bother testing this bug ridden “enhancement” before going live?

Your post is kind of confusing because you use the word “credits” but there are really two numbers: points and tender. You get points by completing tasks. For every 200 points, you get 100 tender, which is the currency used to buy stuff. Each month you can earn a max of 1000 points, which gets you 500 tender. You also passively get 500 tender for logging in. This month you can also get two one-time only bonuses: 500 tender for owning DF and 500 tender for the tour quest. So this month you can get a max of 2000 tender. In future months, that will be 1000 tender.

I did the intro questline and I don’t recall it mentioning anywhere that we get “points” for doing activities, and “points” are then at some point converted into “tender.” No wonder this is confusing a lot of players.

It’s not too late for the architects to remove the convoluted construct of “points” in a future patch. Just directly award tender at half the current amount of “points.”

It’s actually mentioned in the Trading Post Post, although there it refers to Activity Points and the traveler’s log calls it Travel Points, so that’s something they could make more consistent. But the Traveler’s Log does show the milestones and the tender in those tooltips.

The part that’s not mentioned in the Trading Post-Post or anywhere else, is that after you earn 200 “points” for doing activities, then you only get 100 “tender.”

Without explicitly mentioning that we earn “tender” at half the rate of “points,” is it really expected that this should be self evident to players?

I went into my Adventure Guide to examine the tooltips you mentioned. Now that I’ve had the formula of 2 points = 1 tender explicitly spelled out for me, I can make sense of it. I just didn’t interpret it in that way the first time I saw it.

I’ve completed two activities, “Show Some Love to the Trading Post” and “Earn 5,000 gold from auctions.” There is a green checkmark next to each, but it doesn’t display how many points I earned from each.

My Travel Log blue progress bar is three-quarters of the way towards the first 100 tender reward, which is fine. But I no longer remember how many “points” I earned from each activity I completed, and it’s not intuitive from looking at the Travel Log.

I look at my Travel Log and say “hmmm, looks like it’s about three-fourths of the way to 100, I must have earned about 40 for each activity. Or maybe I earned 25 from one activity, and 50 from the other activity.” Those are the obvious potential inferences a player might intuit from the current Travel Log design and tooltips, and neither of those inferences are correct. That suggests a poor design and poor tooltips and other in-game documentation.

It should be instantly, abundantly clear just from playing the game, doing the intro quest and reading the tooltips, that we earn “points” for doing activities, and 2 points = 1 tender. This is currently not clear, and until it’s corrected to be more understandable, there’s going to be players who think they are experiencing a bug with receiving tender (when they’re not actually experiencing a bug at all, just poor documentation).

2 “points” equal 1 “tender” still does not explain why my balance of “tender” was 100 Sunday when I logged off and Monday when I logged in the Chest gave me 500 more but I only had a balance of 500 and it should have been 600.

I apologize for pulling the thread off on a tangent. Your issue sure sounds like a bug. The convoluted currency system makes it confusing to communicate about the Trading Post and sort out bugs from SNAFU.
