Missing DLL error

Since the patch today, when I launch the game I’m presented with a message that the application can’t be launched because I’m missing api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll and that I should attempt scan-and-repair. However, when I close/acknowledge the popup, the game launches anyway. It seems to be working (I can log in and everything looks normal), but I’m not sure what the error is referring to or if it could interfere with playing.

I’ve scanned and repaired twice with no effect. Is there any other action I should take, or is this harmless? I’m on Windows 7, which I know is very old but is still listed as supported for War Within.

I hit the same problem earlier this evening. Did a scan and repair and then once it was able to actually retrieve the realm list I was able to log in. My anecdotal experience:
Other than the game acting a bit sluggish at times and some loading screens not loading the entire UI the game is playable. Even did a heroic raid earlier tonight to shake off some rust and it behaved as expected.
As I’m also running Windows 7 (at least while I continue to work on the eventual replacement), I’d say that for now you should be good to go.

Good to know, I’ll keep an eye on it and add if anything else looks wrong.

Having the same issue, and same operating system! It’s annoying but at least the game launches anyway.

I recall a prepatch (df?) doing something similar, and they had it fixed within a few weeks.
