Missing Casting Animation Pose for Devourer Spec

I know that this is really minor visual thing, but since I did not find a post on it I felt I needed to create a post for it.

I know that there are more serious issue with this Class that have a more prevalent priority on the Devs Schedule Tasks that work directly with Classes with all the deadlines closing in, but just wanted to mention it just in case it can be added to the bucket list of requested visual and animation assign to the devs that work on programing adding the coding for those.

  • Had family try the new Class to get feedback on how it feels and the first they mention was: “Why does the DH fight with his fist up like it was boxing after casting and they even hide their weapons? Why is their fighting pose not like Havoc or like other Casting Clases? I think they are missing animations, its fun but feels unfinished. I’ll touch the new spec again later after Midnight lunch, when its finish or they fix it if its a just a visual bug.”

  • I also notice the same visual bug on Evokers Visage when they cast spells, but never mention it or pay much attention since most of my animation on Evoker are on my Dragon form… not sure if its related or if Devourer spec share some assets with Evoker Class but I thought I should give feedback on this too.

My family never come to WoW forums when they don’t like something and just simply move on to something else until it changes or it draws their attention again and I have a few friends already mentioning that Devourer animations feel wonky.

And since Devourer Spec is part of the Promotion in Midnight I thought add this mention feedback

Thank you for your time, work and effort Devs (and also thanks to the CM that help this feedback reach the right department and devs  ) . If anyone feels to add more to this feel free, since like I said its just a minor feedback on the Devourer Visuals.

Agreed. There is some laziness in the aesthetics of this spec.

  • Void meta being a recolored variant of the original meta, but not sharing the tattoos you have for your character, unlike Havoc meta. Give us at least some deviation from the original demonic form.
  • Weird boxing stance after casting instead of holding your glaives or caster stance.
  • No void eye colors for the non-VE races.
  • Feels like we’re missing a button somewhere, but that could just be because it’s pre-patch and will be resolved when we get to max level.

Also no void eye colors for the VE race.

Oof, that’s unfortunate…

I think it’s a placeholder animation that is used for actions that have no proper animation of their own. Which sucks for both Dev and Evokers casting things in visage.

Yeah I :100: agree!

Anyone who play long enough online games can tell its a placeholder animation. This is why I created the post… and from what I read it’s not the only animation feedback on visuals this spec is getting.

They are marketing Devourer as part of Midnight features, visually this makes it look un-finished or lack of polish.

I know these are low priority, compare to other issues but I work with devs teams in the past and when your marketing a product and its has some noticeable issues… you don’t want the high ups and marketing breathing down on your teams and their supervisors neck because the product they are promoting looks unfinished or unpolish! Marketing and High Ups don’t understand the dev cycles or workflows of development, they only see deadlines and that they want it fix as soon as possible before that! So the pressure they can insert can be annoying and disruptive! :skull_and_crossbones:

However I don’t know how interconnected the different Teams work at blizz, I think giving feedback does help… specially if the devs teams are busy getting ready for lunch!

Hope it gets added before Midnight hits.

I could have swore that this animation was updated for DDH, I recall it being different from the unequipped combat stance that veng/havoc had previously.
