After being away from the game i decided to reinstall battlenet, Everything worked out fine but now the icon for it is missing in the system tray, i did everything that previous people have done to fix it and nothing seems to be working and I am at a loss about why its happening. Everything should be correct but when i launch it is missing the icon. even re downloaded it and did not fix the issue
So not sure what to do to fix it, I tried the other fixes mentioned but even that does not seem to fix the issue
In the icon tray area, look for the little arrow thing on the far left of where they are. Click it and it will expand to show collapsed icons. You can click and drag bnet from there down by the other icons like network and sound.
Another way to do it is that you can also right click on the start menu->taskbar settings->click on other system tray icons->find bnet in the list and click the botton to turn it on.
(assuming you’re on Windows 11, 10 might be the same? idk, been using 11 for ages so I’m not sure if there is parity between 10 and 11 for the settings)
So i tried the second solution and nothing changed, It still showing a white icon whenever i load up battle net and it appears on the bottom. and not sure how do to do the first one to be honest.
Edit - It is whenever i start the program does the icon for it not appear on the bottom. It shows on my desktop, and it shows if i move the icon to the taskbar on the bottom but when i start the program itself that is when it only shows a white paper icon that is it
update- I fixed it, The shoutcut it was using was a old one, I deleted it and now its working properly!
Solution for the future
Right-click on your desktop icon, select Properties, and then change icon. The name of the icon file should be highlighted… copy it (Ctrl+C) to the Windows Clipboard.
Hit the Cancel button twice to close the property window.
Launch Battle.Net if it’s not already running
Right-click on the Battle.Net taskbar icon, then right-click on “Battle.Net” and select Properties and “Change Icon”.
The taskbar icon file path should be highlighted; delete it (use Backspace) and paste (Ctrl+V) the content from the Windows Clipboard. If there is no icon in the icon list, click in the space where the icons should be. Click on the Battle.Net icon in the list (it should be the only icon available). Click OK twice to approve the changes and close the property window.
