Missing Arthas

I miss Arthas and WoTLK. I mean, yeah he tried to rule over with the forces of an undead army, but we all make mistakes, right?

Watch the cinematic for WOTLK and compare it to anything else…not even close. Eerily similar to GoT in a lot of ways actually if you pay attention but besides that it blows all the other xpacs out of the water.

Death knight propaganda.

Arthas was a Scooby-Doo villain who popped up at every moment to try to scare us into submission. Then when we finally took his mask helm off, you could hear the faintest whisper, “I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those meddling raiders!”

you mean GoT is similar to LK but yes it is an awesome cinematic,

Listening to Two Steps from Hell “Immortal” makes it even more epic!

Are you having Aleríon-gret… because aren’t you now the leader of the death knights and all?

Well im sure Bolvar would like to get reacquainted

Yea, exactly, it’s weird because GoT is the most popular show there ever was so it seems like it was first but obviously it was not at all.

I’m not a WC 1,2,3 person, does anyone know what year the actual imagery of the LK and the undead army go back to in terms of the story?

Arthas showed up in WC3.

Well if I remember correctly and I sure if i am wrong someone will correct me but it was either after the 3rd war or during the 3rd war towards the end.

Hamfisted writing!! out of character!! false outrage!!! YEARGH!!!

:ice_cream:

Funny thing is, this was an actual complaint back in Wrath but hardly anyone is going to admit it because it would be bashing the “perfect” xpac.

Have an upvote for courage :stuck_out_tongue:

Off topic but how do you do the

I always love seeing this.

Well, the GoT book came out in 1996 soooo I dunno haha. It was probably just two completely different ideas that happened to be similar. It’s crazy how similar it is though, especially at the end of season 7 when the undead dragon burns down the wall with the undead army right underneath. Like the exact same thing as the trailer for WOTLK, besides the wall thing.

I could be wrong ,but hasn’t bolvar been the lich king for way longer than arthas ever was?

Wrath was overall a great Xpac (and my favorite, even above my beloved classic), but the story definitely had some flaws. Remember how much people hated the Argent tourney because it was “filler content” and “not advancing the main story.” Not to mention the raid was almost universally disliked.

But nowadays everyone remembers jousting and the dailies so fondly. They don’t remember…but I remember…

I mean I think he was there to watch our progress. I think the writing team was trying to convey that he was priming us to be one of his most powerful death knights, but he had to let us get more powerful before he killed us and turned us. But then we surprised him by being too powerful.

It wasn’t super obvious writing, it probably took half a dozen times leveling through WotLK for me to understand why Arthas kept taunting me and letting me go.

It could be that the original idea may have came from the book and Blizzard worked around that idea for their cinematic but the series seemed to play off of Blizzards because it was so intense and sheer epicness. i still need to watch the last season i am drooling here waiting to see how it all unfolds!

I’ve actually went back to doing those to complete my mounts from there. I remember doing it all the time during wrath, but I faction changed so I had to start all over.
