keep in mind this is a MMO in year 2022 made by a BILLION dollar company that charges a monthly subscription but they can’t even have a simple animation for its core spells. Name a single MMO out there that doesn’t have an animation for its spells. This is the kind of thing just baffles me because people just don’t speak up about it and hold them accountable

People speak up but nobody listens, or perhaps they do but the ones listening aren’t the ones that make decisions.
It’s disappointing, shadow priests have a distinct lack of animations and it’s very disappointing. I honestly couldn’t describe what vampiric touch looks like and many of the many spells in our core kit are invisible or as damn close to it as you can get.
Mind blasts new animation is nice but for such an iconic shadow spell it really could use some more flair. Flay is good, dots are usually hard to show but moonfire and sunfire are both very flashy.
There are plenty of examples of good animations for similar spells so it’s a shame that we are missing out

I always thought it would be neat for VT to have a quick set of glowy purple vampire teeth chomp down on the target. Like an open set of teeth materialize as you are casting similar to how Shaman heals materialize a water connection to the target during cast, and on completion the teeth bite down.
It’s not just priest.
Every new beta build and in PTR I reported Warlock’s Soulfire was using a PLACEHOLDER MAGE PYROBLAST ANIMATION, and they just threw it in the garbage and let it go live for the 4th expansion in a row without an actual animation.
Green fire still does not work with Demonbolt or Tyrant’s demonfire. Drain Soul still has classic vanilla animation after they removed Malefic Grasp.
Malefic Rapture is a copy paste of Implosion without the jumping imps.
Dark Void has no animation.
I reported the Inner Demons talent for Havoc male night elf demonhunters is using the FEMALE metamorphosis. I submitted this feedback and report on every beta and PTR build. It went live unaddressed.
I reported that since the beginning of PTR the Primal Gladiator’s belt for leather is broken on male void elves, the buckle slides into the right leg. They let it go live broken when it wasn’t broken prior to DF.
They don’t read your feedback. They don’t read your bug reports. They release half baked products and the beta is just a promotion machine, not a place for QA testing the player’s character beyond the alpha.

Ah, glad I came here and saw this before posting my question. I loaded up my spriest last night and was excited to welcome back mindspike – I casted the spell and… no visuals? I thought there was something wrong with my UI.
