Around the 13th/14th of Febuary this year, my auctions expired from the ah. 10 days later I finally put them up and see that tsm only has 1930 out of my usual 2100 mails, im thinking no worries tsm has recently showed me a lower number than what I post but the “missing” auctions show up after a few posts.
Well not this time, after an emptying out of my mailbox and reposting my auctions I have 1925 auctions showing on the ah. At that moment I knew something was wrong. I put in a ticket and eventually in the middle of hoping back and forth my auctions come down again. I sell a few items but the missing auctions are still not there so I put that in the chain of ticket responses.
Yesterday a gm gave me the link to the mail recovery system as it was down for nearly a month before this. There was nothing in the mail recovery so all those items are lost to the void because of the “limit” that there is in the mailbox.
EDIT. After about 5 days or so of my initial ticket(2,nearly 3 weeks after the items went missing) the items finally returned as another person said in here as expired mail. And i guess to top it off I was missing nearly double the items i thought.
I mostly deal in Transmog. I had about 975 auctions set to expire within 5 minutes before and 15 minutes into the maintenance window. They are all gone. The only ones that came through to my mail were the first and part of the second wave of 115ish per wave of expirations. From my outside perspective it seems that within the timeframe of the server shutting down the database simply lost those entries and there is no way for a player to recover them client-side. I’ve logged, reloaded, cleared cache, the whole nine. No improvements. I do have a ticket open but have not received a response yet.
Edit to add: This happened today, 2/28 during the weekly reset.
Have you checked the mail recovey system? If the items are not there put in a ticket. That will help with making this more of a priority i believe.
I also have some missing items. I am sure that 5 JC panther mounts are missing, based on my TSM logs. I have a record of my auctions expiring (failed auctions), though I don’t have them in my inventory, or on the AH, and there is no record of sale. They are also not available via item restoration. I submitted a ticket but the GM said they can’t do anything unless the Dev team looks into it l, so I should submit a bug report. Basically no chance of recovery. The question is, do I craft more and post? What if this happens again?
Adding to this thread, as I am having the same issue. Missing a Reins of the Tamed Bloodfeaster mount. I did not sell it as my gold did not increase the amount the item was listed for, and it is not in my bags nor in my mailbox. I tried checking via mail recovery system as well as via restored item in the event some weird thing happened there. It is just simply gone. Now today, on another character, I am missing several draconic augment runes that were listed for sale on AH before reset. I do not have any failed auctions in my mail today nor any mail that says they sold. They are just simply gone. Please help us recover these valuable items!! Thank you.
Update 3/8/2023: After 3 GM tickets with the last one telling me “Our records show you sold these items”, I finally just closed my tickets with no option for receiving my lost items back. However, today I opened my mail to see I got my mount and augment runes back on my two characters. They came via expired AH items, so there WAS something busted with the AH as we suspected. I appreciate the devs who worked on this and hope my fellow players in this thread found some resolution to their issues as well.

During this week’s maintenance, I lost about a third of my auctions (about 500). I put in a ticket about the missing items. Since there were so many of them, I only included one item to help them figure out where it was (The Arcanist’s Cookbook). I got a response within the hour that it was in my mailbox with 28 sold auctions. I logged in to get it, but only the sold auction mails existed. I used my crafting operations to generate a complete list of what was missing, and pulled a large list of items and counts. I replied to the ticket about the additional problems and items. After about 30 hours, they responded that it was an issue reported by many people and that my items should reappear after the reset.

Yes I noticed today they were back!! Happy it resolved itself (or someone fixed it). What a relief
It took about three resets to regain my auctions, but they finally did. I suspect some items were missing, but the expensive crafts were all returned. The moral of the story, don’t let your auctions expire during maintenance.
