Went to Org to go check a Mind Control bug on a humanoid and decided to watch some duels. Happened to notice that with War Mode on, my HP is now about 10k less than in Shadowlands. Hearth back to Oribos and I’m back to original full HP. I did a duel with a hunter because I read somewhere that it changes even in War Mode if you are in combat, but I never saw my HP magically increase once I was in combat.
I mean, why such a convoluted and hard system now. I understand they felt that it was hard to climb the ladders against, for example, Rival 1 geared folks in Challenger 2 gear, but at least I understood that system.
Can someone explain why my HP disappears in the old world even in War Mode?
You are losing the Deepening Bonds from your covenant when you go to Org. Not active there.

Ahh, gotcha! Good call man. Thanks. I will add that I am super disappointed by this new cumbersome system I have been reading about in other threads while awaiting a response. Dynamically changing HP based on whether you are in PvP combat or not. What an aweful concept. In a joking example, how can I know if I should attack someone I see out in the world. Sure as heck shouldn’t use their HP as a gauge to their ilvl anymore…

Aww… you mean you wanted to one-shot the apparent lowbie, but it turns out that they’re actually a geared glad? That really sucks. Super unfair.

Well, the PvP gear reads, “Scales in Battlegrounds and Arenas.” The PvP scaling in combat is likely a bug and won’t scale you upon entering PvP combat. It’ll go based off the base ilvl which can be upgraded through rated PvP.
It used to read, “scales in PvP combat and War Mode”. If they wanted to continue scaling it upon PvP combat, they would’ve just kept that first part in the tooltip.
Apparently they also removed the ability to upgrade pvp gear as that was gate keeping to many people. Just a full on gutting of pvp.
No, you can still upgrade it. The upgrade npc is in Valdrakken near PvP vendors.

No, i mean i enjoyed ganking pve carebears. It would be obvious if the person wasnt max level or just wearing blues.
If you’ve got WM on, why would you assume anyone you saw was a “PVE carebear?”
