Hey, ran across an issue today with the DH starting zone, wondering if anyone else has had something similar.
Started level a new DH, got about half way through the zone. Normally, you are supposed to get a few abilities with the quests as you play them. However, despite completing the appropriate quests, I didn’t get the abilities. They don’t show up on my bars or in my spellbook.
Anyone else get this issue? Is there a solution besides just starting over?
Thanx!
think this is just a change to the levels that we get the ability, the quest text was not updated to account for that change, if you need any of them to complete a quest they should show up next to your quests as a quest item to activate them until you actually unlock them
I thought this might be the case, but I after a bit more searching it seems like it was not. I should be able to see the abilities in the spellbook, greyed out, and the level we get them at if I don’t have them yet. The ability (in this case, Immolation Aura) is not there. Not in the spellbook, either greyed out or active. The passive upgrades to Immolation aura are there, but the spell itself is not.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I’ll keep looking for solutions.
it might be due to the spell book being updated, its no longer one page for the class, you cant see a lot of things till you unlock a spec at level 10 and then there will be a tab for havoc or veng
I did unlock the specs, at level 10 now, and looked through the all the pages.

Have you missed any quests in the starting area?
Not that I know of. Might go back and check just to see, but I would think I wouldn’t be able to progress any further without getting all the quests.
There appear to be bugs because blizzard is reconciling the new level-up system granting abilities vs how it worked before where you’d get new abilities by completing quests
I submitted a bug report about this in the beta, I think it requires both a level and the quest to unlock the ability now, that’s the only explanation I can think of.
I’m having the same issue with Disrupt and their spike defensive. Did you ever get an answer?
