It seems no matter the character, the shoulder pad on the left shoulder is always either clipping into them or heavily leaning forward, especially on certain races such as Night Elves, Humans, both Void and Blood Elves, etc. Pretty sure this has been a thing for who knows how long and it still hasn’t been fixed. I’d think it would be a simple thing to take care of, just re-adjusting it to match the other. Anyone else agree?
I always make shoulder pads on invisible.
They really don’t go with a crop top.
I always thought it was a perspective kind of thing. Like how BE’s have their stance, the shoulder gear would adjust.
Either way, it doesn’t bother me. Not all the shoulder gear sits the same on all the different races.
For a long time it drove me crazy to find a set of shoulders that looked good on spacegoats. They’re so sway backed that it appeared to me some shoulder armour seemed to be sliding off the back of them.
Same with NEs but the shoulder armour they have now, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
I am sure there is a fetish for that. I would look, but ai am too tired to end up in one of those weird rabbit holes.
Yeah its frustrating too because then when you have a two handed sword in your back, the hilt is almost always clipped inside your swayed back shoulders.
And if you use something like an axe or hammer instead so the haft is between your shoulders, then the axe head has your tail and cloak sticking straight through it.
Solving problems like this would involve a much more complex avatar model. Development of such a model would be expensive and would mean less development time for content.
Yep. That doesn’t mean its not frustrating
I imagine that as the technology improves, computers become more powerful and as AI systems become able to make each programmer more productive you may see new avatars that can handle this.
The big problem is that avatars are not “solid”. Being that they are projections and the things they wear are projections, they can easily go through each other.
You can create a zone around them simulating an area where they won’t go through things. This prevents us from walking through walls or falling through the ground, but the granularity is not good enough to have a weapon follow the curves of our clothing or armor which in turn follows our curves.
But some day in the future it probably will.
This is true so I think it’s a good change that they’ve seem to have adjusted the new gear from BfA onward (I think it’s BfA, maybe SLs but def DF) to fit the various races better.
Still, it’s going to happen which is why it can be a good idea to find something in our vast inventories to fit our various races.
For Paladins, I use the smaller shields. That seems to work.
Just another long-winded thought.
