I was using a misdirect macro to automatically use it on tanks as specified in the macro. It randomly stopped working for whatever reason in auto casting it for me when I pressed it on the specified target. Not sure what could be causing it other than possibly group size but that didn’t seem to matter in the past.
This is the macor I am currently using:
#showtooltip
/cast [@target] misdirection
I prefer to use the macro as it makes it easier for me to get my MD out without having to directly target the tank. Yet now its randomly gone back to where it buffs your cursor and you have to manually click on the target.
Test if you can still put it on your pet?
I actually HATED it when a hunter continued to do this to me (as tank) during a leveling dungeon. He kept on pulling too much trash and of course, couldn’t understand English.
Wouldn’t that macro be the same as clicking on someone and just pushing misdirection?
You can try this and see if it works.
#showtooltip
/cast [@target,help] Misdirection
But this seems more useful. Just focus tank at the beginning of the instance, if tank dies or is not focused it will cast on pet.
#showtooltip
/cast [@focus,help][help][@pet,exists] Misdirection
Before it worked automatically without me having to tab over and directly target the player. I could literally be on something else, hit it, it would MD for me without having to swap briefly, and made my life easier.
It shouldn’t have done that at all.
