Minor Headcanons You Want To Be Canon

Most of this is actually basically canon.

The Pyrewood Shackles that were placed on all the civilians of Pyrewood Village was a Arugal experimenting with the curse. It made it so that those who wore the shackles ONLY transformed at night. Notice no other worgen do this. Whether the shackles are what give the people the worgen curse or they had it already and the shackles control it we don’t know.

You also dont need the shackles to be lucid worgen who have sentience, there are plenty who retain their humanity and sentience after being bitten. Many of the Wolf Cult in Gilneas willingly chose to become worgen after joining Alpha Prime and they are able to shift at will and such. And they were just bitten by worgen they werent given the shackles.

As for the last part I think you could be right, many of the Nightbane, Bloodfang, and worgen in Ashenvale were Kaldorei so its possible over the years in the dream they learned some semblance of control since any humans bitten against their will likely would gave had a hard time retaining their sanity and would need someone to lead them. So i like the idea that the Kaldorei worgen were leading them!

Most of the changes that can be made at barbershops are doable. The barber profession started with hair, but Goblins learned that more profits can be made changing other aspects of appearance also, so they now employ methods that allow for such. This is mostly done through potions, though specific racial features include other methods. The Goblin way of barbering became so popular that other barbers adopted it. These changes are now commonplace.

It is interesting how the names are so similar. I wonder if someone at Blizzard was actually planning for his torturer to be Garithos, and after deciding against that for whatever reason they went for the easiest fix (changing the G to a D).

To expand on this headcanon, I submit this as some sort of evidence that the “Garithos” name might have been mixed up as it was processed in Revendreth. As offered by Varimathras, a creation of Denathrius :

Varimathras : “I believe his name was Garabon or Gilithos or something. Human names all sound the same to me.”

That would’ve been super clever!! :open_mouth:

Ursoc reincarnated as a Furbolg. :bear: :honey_pot:
— Now blessed by Elune against all forms of corruption (NO MORE!) and just chilling out with his brother in Northrend, working together to mend the divide between the two great Furbolg tribes warring with one another in Grizzly Hills.

I stole this headcanon from someone, but I think it’s neat, so I’m gonna repeat it.

The Flowerpicker clan isn’t a meme, but a clan of orcs who specialise on killing botani. The name is simply partially lost in translation. They’re terrifying because they’re too good at what they do.

This one starts from a minor event, but doesn’t end up being minor  It has always bugged me that Garrosh surviving a massive explosion in Tides of War has never been explained. So I head canon that it wasn’t the real Garrosh. It was a dreadlord. The real Garrosh has been kept on ice by the dreadlords since the end of Cataclysm or Lich King. Some day we’ll go explore some dreadlord planet and find the real Garrosh in a stasis tube or something.

I play a lot of healers, so I think about the mechanism of the various different types of healing spells, and someone posted this a long time ago, and I still like it!

First off, non-magical healing will create the most obvious scars, takes the longest time to heal, and has the longest lasting effects in terms of aches, pains, etc, due to the imperfect intervention of mortals (stitches, bone setting, I’m not even sure how primitive their medical practices may be. Do they even have sterile technique?)

Next, Druid and other sources of nature healing (red dragons, maybe?) will leave minimal scarring, as it uses the power of nature to regenerate, regrow, and accelerate natural healing processes. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology may increase the effectiveness of this healing, as the healer is guiding the natural processes. It is also limited by those same processes.

Shaman and Monk healing I’m a little gray over, as I’m not sure how water spirits would actually mend gaping wounds. I can understand them cleansing away infections, but what water would do besides irrigate the wounds, I have no idea. I suppose it would be something between nature healing and Holy healing. The ability to heal is dependent on the power of the shaman and the subsequent power of the spirits at their command.

-Maiev and Naisha were romantic partners

-The Kaldorei faith surrounding Elune is rooted in self-realization and empowerment. It’s tenants of self-reliance, individual responsibility, and embracing the challenge of adversity, is all meant to unlock the divine Wisdom that is within every Kaldorei, as mortal avatars of the Goddess. I think what we know so far about Elune supports this model, and is the best world building explanation for isolationism and matriarchy evident in Kaldorei society.

-There are still a lot of orcs who look back to earlier iterations of the Horde with fond memories. I RP a Warsong orc who was enslaved by the Crimson Ring and made into a Gladiator. He would say something along the lines of “They say I was a slave to the Legion. But every decision I made under the Demon’s power felt like my own. I did not feel chained until it was my own people who bound me in them.”

-Stormwind looks like Venice Italy, and Elwynn is the Tuscan Forest that sits just under the “Alps” that is Khaz’Modan. Humans need more culture, more flavor. Generic, indistinct fantasy humans are boring.

I’ll probably post more later.

• The reason D.E.H.T.A hasn’t been seen so much since the events of the Northrend campaign is because they were disavowed by the Cenarion Circle. This occurrence immediately followed after the events of the Borean Tundra, where after dispatching Hemet Nesingwary’s hunters, the organization turned their attacks and harassments against the hunters and trackers of the Alliance and Horde, who were gathering meat and furs to support the war effort against the Lich King.

Rather than risk further incident, the Cenarion Circle denounced D.E.H.T.A and they were expelled from Northrend. This is why they never show up in Sholazar Basin to chase after Hemet Nesingwary.

• Har’koa still dwells within Zul’drak, and shelters a small but faithful group of Drakkari who are picking up the pieces of their empire one stone at a time. Recently, however, she has gained some unexpected followers. The Wolvar, who are free to roam and spread throughout Northrend without the constant threat of the Scourge.

• Nar’jira, the Naz’jar Battlemaiden who you briefly play as in Vash’jir, is out there somewhere living her best life with followers and devotees of her own.

Nisha is the vulpera from Vol’dun’s introductory quest. And honestly? Minor headcanon: Maiev is a furry.

Disclaimer: I cannot draw vulperas. Or really remember what Nisha looks like. Or Maive’s tattoos. Or link properly. WHATEVER. They could be sullen and murderous together.

It always felt strange that she never happened in the Eternal Palace raid. Like the heart of the Naga empire and Azshara didn’t have one of her most elite warriors protecting it? We know that Azshara was playing us with the raid. Much like how the Lich King was for ICC. But still.

I always thought it ashame we never saw like Druid eco terrorists. Maybe a particularly extremist branch that’s against the concept of anything artifical on Azeroth.

The evil Druids we get that I’ve seen have either gone feral or were corrupted by the Void or Nightmare. Be interesting to see some who are more of a Posion Ivy type.

I thought of some more:

  • If the Darkspear and Zandalari clash on issues, the Revantusk will side with the Darkspear.
  • The Third War was why the Stonemaul clan split. One group wanted to get far away from the Scourge and Legion, the other group stubbornly decided to stay.
  • The named NPCs from the The Frozen Throne that haven’t shown up in WoW died in the various conflicts. For example Blackthorn perished against the Dreadlords and Tagar died in the conflict against Admiral Proudmoore.
  • The Forsaken woman who helped Sylvanas survive against Varimathras was another Nathrezim, who was originally sent to help him sabotage the Legions orders only to change course when they discovered that Varimathras fully planned on going off script from Team Jailer by summoning the Legion and attempting to kill Slyvanas, who Zovaal had already decided to recruit.

That Nuuri is a neutral Eredar somewhere and misses Velen. I wanna see her resurface so bad, for tragedy or wholesome storytelling.

There are hilariously more villages and towns that dot the livable places of Azeroth than we see in game.

I believe Elwynn forest is dotted with little villages everywhere, there’s camps and the like dotting the Barrens between Durotar to Mulgore. Things like that.
