⌛ Min/Maxing Culture is Ruining Classic

What does faction imbalance have to do with min/max of raid composition and elitist player attitudes?

Didn’t tips rage tf out at his guild when they wiped in MC? He’s part of the problem not the solution.

the problem is when you have uneven standards. everyone needs to meet your guild’s minimum standard.

Without replying to every section of your post I agree with the overall idea that min maxing and bis lists ruin the game for many players.
It makes it so you’re only allowed to get certain items in a raid and many dps classes (like warriors for example) have very few items through multiple raids (up until make aq 40) that they can even get.
Many guilds also have priority lists which makes it so players can’t typically do fun builds you have to stick to the most optimal build and you can only get items that fall under said build

My guild actually has both. There are some who care about their parses. They pop the best consumables all the time, wait for world buffs, and take the time to farm up every BiS item they can.

There are others who show up on time to raid, and participate as much as they can.

There has been no drama about this so far. It’s been made clear that once the content starts posing a challenge, that some folks will be required to have appropriate specs and reasonable gear (very reasonable, IMO.) We’re currently raiding with a shadow priest, a boomkin, a pally tank and 2 ret paladins. I think at least one of our warriors is arms, too. This composition will be changing a bit for BWL, at least as long as we’re counting it as “progression.”

:joy:

i chuckled given the reality of what this actually tends to look like.

i suspect his recent health scare probably had a lot to do with his change of heart.

Yes, and he addressed that in his video. After participating in a PUG and having fun again, he had an epiphany and realized that he was at fault for treating a game like a job instead of entertainment. Some of us take longer than others, but most of us eventually grow up. The reason I quit in MoP was that Blizzard was increasingly catering more and more to players who schedule their lives around the game at the expense of those of us who want to treat games like the relaxing diversions that they were originally designed to be.

Classic was ruined when TBC released in 2007. What you all are playing now, is not classic wow.

Close enough.

Where’d you get this number from, chief?

Yeah, how dare they give players the freedom to play whichever faction they want.

Players should log in and see Alliance as the only option.

I am hoping to start something special on Blaumeux, the most balanced server. We can create a real community and enjoy the game at our own pace.

too bad min/maxing is a thing because the game has been out 15 years so get over it. There will always be the over achievers and the other people.

were you not there for release month? That’s all it was anyway. OIf course you had questers but doesn’t change the fact there will always be people tryna boost

in quite a few cases however, there is a legitimate us or them consequence. Combat can either be action or RPG. Combat can either be challenging, or clicker game. We may either disagree politely or we may disagree toxically. In the end we are still at odds.

How many people did you know who had 10,000 gold or more back in vanilla?

Min/Max your toon is fine. Making other people in your guild min/max by forcing spec is a cancer. Being good at the game doesn’t break it.
