I posted this a few years ago, im going to bring it up again now.
The deathknight minion summons its self after being manually dismissed to the point where it bothers me in-game.
For example:
- Take a poral = Summon
- Mount = Summon
- Dismount = Summon
I have played a hunter for years and I am used to pet summoning/dismissal.
I just wonder why Deathknight minions dont work the same way?
Last time i brought this up people had greviances saying “if your in an arena mid fight it takes a second to summon a minion”
Well hunters across the game have managed to use their pets just fine since launch of vanilla back at the crack of dawn 20 odd years ago.
Just wanted to bring up this annoyance and hopefully gain some momentum that might get heard and maybe our DK minion will act more like a Hunter pet and only come out when the summon button is clicked and stay away once dismissed until called on again.
Thanks for reading.

I just park mine off in a corner when they get in the way. Otherwise, Scratchy and Archie come in handy for the unexpected..
Yes it’s extremely annoying… The pet is the main drawback of Unholy

Demo warlocks have this issue with the imps. The big pet comes and goes when you mount, but imps just run across the map on the ground it seems and pull mobs.
Coming into a dng, pet is there, start the key pet is missing < annoying if someone just puts the key in without a timer, as we can kinda fast summon if we get a count down.
I’d change the imps to work like the big pet, the pet not to despawn when a key starts, DK pets also look like they need updated.
yeah so after playing for a few more weeks ive had multiple instances in areans where the minions werent summoned, tried to use an ability in a 3v3 and it said “no pet” or something like that. so this thing will literally summon its self after a dismount or checking the mailbox but not in an arena.
I still stand by what I said and have it the same as a hunters pet. if we have to manually summon and dismiss it we will be more aware of it aswell.
on my hunter im never without my pet when i need it because its always top of my checklist before i do anything and always dissmiss it when i dont need him around, like when im in towns/cities.
