Just wanted to make sure if there was any news about this. I can no longer mine while flying on a mount and im sure i just did that the other day before patch.

Did you check to see if you have the mining while mounted talent selected in the mining tree?

yup, still got the talent. I can still mine while on mount, i just have to be on the ground not flying

I think the ability to mine while flying using standard flight while hovering over a node was always a bug. Sad to see it go, though.

While flying? no you have to land, but you still do it in your mount.
aye, now i do. But before Tuesday i was doing it for months, i thought it was part of the perk since it helped avoid the explosive nodes. was even doing it in the older expansions.

Bro I’m mining since Dragonflight when it was first introduced mining while mounted, you needed to land – even on top of the node – to mine.
There was a bug that allowed you to hover above a node and mine it with standard flying enabled. Even without the mining perk itself
That’s what OP is talking about. The bug has been fixed it seems.

This puts a smile on my face.
Sadly, I had a feeling they would remove this as soon as they discovered it. Made it so easy since it worked in ALL old expansions. Could mine while hovering without dismounting in all old expansions.

If you have the talent it still works mounted but not flying…but only for that character
I can only farm mounted with the one or two alts I have worked up the talent for…none of the rest.

I mentioned it in here months ago…they knew it was doing this and didnt fix it then.
someone said its been going on since SL, but I didnt see it myself until early this year or late 2024

which is why i thought it was part of the perk for capped characters, i thought the bug was that alts could do it without the talent, but not a big deal, was just wondering if it was on the patch notes or the devs mentioned it. It was definitely handy.

Sadness about this being “fixed”. It was probably the 3rd best thing about this expac. Do you have any confirmation that it’s affected the older zones??

i just tried alts and capped in old world zones, no luck, fixed everywhere.
How you can tell the person who made this decision plays a druid. I’m still upset about monk’s instant flying mount in legion being nerfed into the ground for daring to give someone an alternate to druid.

It may have needed a major patch to fix.
It is very strange this game doesn’t announce what are bugs and what they bug fixed in patches
