Simply put, which one will end up making the most amount of gold for phase 1?
I’m stuck picking between the two as I know herbalism is miles ahead better later on when people are pushing harder content (AQ40/Naxx) but that’s months and months down the road.
After having bought my mount at 40 through skinning and mob grinding I’m feeling the need to change it up a bit and work smarter, not harder.

Take both skills and farm stockpiles of both
I think Herbalism will be more profitable per stack later, but really, if you just want to make money, then farm it all up and horde it on an alt bank until the economy has more level 60’s
People leveling up Alchemy and Blacksmithing later on will buy up the early tiers of those materials. and end game materials will always be in demand.
Skinning. So many unskinned mobs lying around… just vendor them.
Too much competition for things with nodes.
Herbalism and vendor it all except for what is really selling. They form stacks of 20 so you can farm for a while where ore forms stacks of 10 until you can smelt.
Don’t bother holding onto herbs for later, people level past them and usually don’t go back. Everyone hoarding them means that the prices will stay depressed for a long time, you’ll just waste bank space waiting on them. Get your money quick and move on to the later herbs for moneymaking.
Level a crafting profession now because mats are super cheap, take advantage of it.
