I can’t even mine enough thorium to consistently refill my ammo spent while mining… Why is this still a thing?
I understand some people are going to say it’s not broken. Cool it’s working for you. It’s still broken for me, and a lot of other people I see talking about it.
Rich thorium veins tapping twice, is something that rarely, if ever, happened during vanilla.
I can still mine for hours to end up with less than a stack. This is not normal, comparing to my vanilla experience.

Perhaps your memory is failing you. That was 15 years ago.
Never played a class that uses guns, but could you just simply use mithril based ammo when you’re out mining and save your “good” ammo? When I need thorium for other uses, I use iron grenades instead of thorium ones for instance

Your title should be “Mining, Still Broken for ME”. I have none of the issues you are having. Plenty of Thorium veins out there. I have stacks upon stacks in my bank.
There is a lot of that in Classic, and likely because they are using a different server and a different version of the game that’s not exactly as it was in 1.12.
They can claim its exactly as it was all they like, but its just not. The new client that we use now is definitely very different, even the graphics are wrong, although they have corrected the T2.5 shoulders for warriors and paladins, as well as paladin mount and Perditions blade, but there are some other differences. Classic uses Retail water, had some wacky glitches regarding waterfalls that I know did not exist before. Also the graphical terrain clutter is not exactly the same at all, I know because I have compared many things to the REAL vanilla client and there are noticeable differences.
Graphics are but only one issue among many, and while I am having a blast on Classic its unfortunate that they used the Retail client to build Classic because its been more trouble than it was ever worth. Allegedly they used the Retail client because they wanted to combat cheating and stuff like that, but truth be told whatever the efforts were to combat cheating have been less impressive than what the Private servers actually execute on cheaters.
No, he’s right. Small thorium is always 1-2 taps. RTVs are always 3 or 4 taps.
What’s your source on that?
They’ve fixed many far more trivial bugs than that. I’d find it very hard to believe this one made it all the way to phase 6.

All nodes up to truesilver are 1-4. Small thorium is 1-2, RTV is 3-4.

Well that’s not really an acceptable source. Memories lie. Computer data doesn’t.

the people that good thorium do it DIre maul east jump run or deep in bug silithid. They are very rare unless you know some spot were it respawn faster
I understand that memory is faulty at times. I don’t believe mine is, as I’ve spent countless hours mining. It was my main source of income profession-wise for 15 years. Like I said in the original post, I’ve seen people say they aren’t having any issues with mining. I know a lot of others who say otherwise, including myself. As for having to save thorium ammo, and use a lesser ammo, I mean… yeah cool I guess. Just seems like it should be fixed, instead of me having to work around an obvious (to me) issue. I never had to save my thorium ammo before, and honestly I don’t think I should have to… that’s the point of having the profession. Also I don’t use guns I use a bow, same thing though really.
I’m not saying I think thorium should be spawning everywhere constantly all the time. I understand the need for scarcity, and economy. But the current situation, from where I’m sitting, is far beyond scarce. 3-5 RTV in a row with double taps, is an obvious issue, at least to my eyes.
Why are u mining? Get your butt into DM and sell buffs for an hour then buy 100,000 rounds.
