For months I was mining at nearly instant speed ~.5 seconds. Today, my mining speed is almost like just beginning ~2 seconds. I am maxed out in mining.
Anyone else having this issue?

Did you maybe have the weaver’s quest active before and completed it? It grants 30% craft/gather speed. edit: as long as it’s in your log you get the buff afaik.
No. I hadn’t been there in a long time. I had been pretty much been staying in Dorn area farming and delving. I typically spend 30m to an hour a day farming and never had it slow other than when I first started mining in TWW. After progressing in the mining tree, the speed slowly increased to what it had been for a long time… then today, it was back to very slow mining.
Every so often I have to go re-apply my weaver buff. It’s probably that.
This is a real question and not just you. I don’t know what it is, some days I zip right along others I don’t. We have to land now to mine, that might be part of it. I’ve always felt that they must be bots who can rush in, tap the mine and zoom away. So maybe it is an anti-bot tactic.
Still, throughout this expansion, my gathering speed has not been consistent. It could be buffs from something though.
The only time my speed of mining is slow it’s because I’ve lost weaver buff.
I haven’t been to that area since the beginning of season 2 with the exception passing through to a delve.
I find every few weeks the buff falls off and I have to go get it again.
You all were correct. It was the weaver’s buff… but I have not done any quest in that area since the beginning of Season 2.
Thanks for pushing me that way!
wonder if it was part of that stupid bug or whatever that they finally decided to fix after letting it go on for months.
