Is there an addon best for leveling mining? Are there any items that will make mining better/ allow me to mine big nodes? (Like the skinning dagger off the beast/skinning enchant)
Will it be worth leveling mining over herb for tbc? Just a bit short on cash
Mining is mostly worth while if you’re gonna use what you gather. Stones sell well. Ore and gems are hit/miss.
There are gathering addons that help keep track of nodes. You can look up farming routes obline, too. Pausing to smelt what you harvested can help you level it faster. Ultimately, it’s easiest with a mount. There really aren’t any items that help all that much.
There’s engineering +5 helm, but it’s not necessary. And you have to be an engineer to use it.
Mine a lot, smelt it to level up more. You level a lot more from smelting making it easier. If you have some spare gold, buy few ores to smelt to level it up first. Silver and gold are rare, save those for few rough spots.
There is a glove enchant +5 skill and a helm from engineering. These might and i say might help you get arcane crystals in classic when they matter. You do need 305 for aq20 rocks. Black Lotus will have some value in forever classic servers, just not as much as other content.
IIRC Gathermate2 and farmroute is the name of the addons I use.
Gather has all the data. Routes lets you map out routes (look it up or make your own) and you can toggle your minimap to go in the center of your screen with a green circle that shows the area for when a node will light up.
Using both is really helpful. I never have planned out routes because I’m not a hard-core farmer but it’s great for being able to stare at the center to watch for nodes. I usually leave it toggled on alts I am leveling.
I don’t think there’s a mining enchant in classic.
+2 to gloves. I think it drops from level 38+ mobs. My druid is an enchanter and has it.
I use Gathermate, the Classic data pack or Gathermate and the addon actually called Routes. Routes will draw a line on your minimap to follow, which is awesome. If you dig into it a little it will optimize your route, which is a big time saver.
You know what I think I had routes at some point, may still have it on Retail. I don’t have it on Classic simply because I don’t really go on major farm sprees.
Farmhud is the addon I was thinking of and I was mixing farmhud and routes together. Routes lets you create routes (derp), gathermate gives you the data, and farmhud lets you put the minimap in the center of your screen.
So if you don’t have Farmhud I suggest checking it out. It’s just better to have the minimap in the center of your screen to follow your route than having to look at wherever your minimap is. Unless routes does that for you it creates the holy trinity of efficient farming.

I like to play Alts and work on Professions. I knew about the +2 one because everytime I get a group for those Elite Dwarves (out in Wetlands) it drops like 5+ times LOL
