Recently leveling my engineering on one of my alts, I’ve discovered that getting to level 300 in the trade kind of refreshing now that you can farm most nodes in Azeroth with breeze.
Then I get to fel iron and discover a huge snag. In Hellfire the nodes are few and very far between plus being greeted by 2 druid bots as soon as I am able to mine a node after flying around for 10 mins.
This flaw has not only made fel iron 6x more the value of any other ore (fel iron is 12g a piece atm and elementium is current 2.5g a piece) its putting that gold to bots and gold sellers.
My request: can we please change the nodes in outlands and northrend to the way the nodes are working in post Cata Azeroth?
The old xpac zones never got a Cata upgrade so I doubt they would do anything about it.
It is indeed horribly farmed by bots.
Sometimes what I would just do is smelt up to adamantite (320 with +5 glove chant) then go into instances like Mana Tombs for that awhile. Assuming that still works, there should be 2+ nodes through the instance, all yours. Tap and reset.
wrath felt easier to farm it’s outland that’s so bad i went to herb rq and im like yeah i can’t after being use to catas way. theres like 5nodes right next to each reach each other all the time lol
The hitch is you get Khorium (375) and Rich Adamantite (350) nodes fairly often (same in Slave Pens), so you run the risk of getting only 1 fairly often and sometimes none out of a reset.
When I have to do it I just /who a few zones (Nagrand, SMV, NS, and the ogre one) and only go to the instances if all of those look too packed with druid/pal/dks.
The sheer # of vacant nodes is zzz
Herbing for alchemy or scribe is a chore and they need to up the anti on gems/mine attempt over all, even in Hyal etc IMO.
I honestly thought nodes were being farmed by bots underground. No nodes, no players. I couldn’t understand what was going on. It was 1am on a weekday.
Yes I have heard of it, it pairs well with Farmhud and Routes, you should use them in conjuction with Gathermate better than flying around randomly with no clear direction. Routes makes it so you do actual circles around a zone looking at every node you want to look at.
