Mining node etiquette

As far as I’m concerned, if you are mining a node in MY CAVE then all nodes are up for grabs. If you tap a node first, I will stand there and wait for you to loot it until I start spam clicking it for next tap.

I’ve had many people say

“dude you are so toxic when someone mines a node you give them the whole node. That’s always how wow has been played. People like you are ruining the game.”

Is that actually a thing? Am I in the wrong?

Idk. If I herb a peacebloom, sometimes I get 2 or 3 in one action. To do the same with mining, it takes 2 or 3 actions. This time it looks like a deliberate design choice. If they meant for one tap to deplete the node in favor of one person they could have made it that way.

That being said, I never encroach on a node someone else is mining because it seems rude.

If someone is mining a node, I leave it to them and go on to the next.

Bro thats toxic. The first person to a node gets it. Youre a ninja looter.

If someone is near by, just don’t auto loot it when you start tapping. Easy to sit on the loot window and block them.

What about fishing pools?

Nope, if someone is fishing, I move along.

yes that is also toxic, there are so many fishing spots on the map in any given area. Just install gathermate if you really need to farm it

Fishing pools seem to be different because you cant prevent anyone from using it. Like with mining you can just not loot it till the other person leaves. With fishing pools anyone can use them and were never gonna get people to stop taking them if you’re there first. Unfortunately, fishing pools are a if you cant beat em join em situation.

You’re toxic.

If a person has the node, it is theirs.

I share or have been sharing any type of node, ore, herb and even fishing… darn reading more about this… you ppl are some greedy SoD’s

It’s definitely toxic and obnoxious to mine a node someone else is mining. Same with fishing. Common decency is important.

95% of people I encounter will fish a pool already in use. If you see a pool, just fish it or don’t. There is no rule.

If it’s someone else of my faction fishing in the same area as me, then I’ll leave them to solo any pool they’ve tapped first. That is, unless they come and fish in my pools, then I’ll start fishing in their pools too.

I’ve seen the argument that the faster each pool is depleted, the faster others spawn.

That’s a pretty flimsy defense when you consider how many fishing nodes are in each area

In the wrong.
They’re tapping it, move along.
They’re fishing it, move along.
They’re herbing it, move along.
They killed it, it’s their skin (until they abandon it), move along.
Lack of manners has game impact.

Do as you please, the game allows multiple taps for a reason.
