Mining - No more multiple taps

Can mining nodes be changed to just give all of their loot on the first tap? Having to hit the same node multiple times is tedious, and Herbalists / Skinners don’t have to click the same thing multiple times.

Agree with this 100%, and also I’d love to see nodes work more like they do in.. Legion? and beyond? Where a node lingers for like 30s after a player taps it, so others can hit it too instead of just stealing a node from someone in combat to grief them. Also helps keep ore/arcane crystal prices lower.

This causes the “I just ran to you, why must you disappear” issue.

I was incredibly pleased when I realized multiple hits was intended behavior. I legit thought the nodes were bugged.

It can, but that issue can also happen just as easily from sharding, or because another player snagged the last tap just as you got close. Overall I think the “chance for a mine after another player hit it” is a net gain over “guaranteed not to get a mine after another player hit it”

Unless of course you’re both standing there smacking it at the same time dueling over latency. In which case… you’d both just get it with the new system anyway, so it’s win-win.

quit trying to streamline everything out of classic

mining was changed like this in WOTLK, not retail

keep crying

era is right there if you want your “MUH #NOCHANGES” paradise

WOTLK was retail at one point you buffoon, as if that matters anyways because that’s literally 2 expansions away from classic.

If you want a retail slop fest, theres already a paradise available for you too.

Sit rat.

The multi-tap is an awesome feature when you are adventuring with another party member and you both want to tap the node for skill up.

I really enjoyed sharing nodes with others during my recent classic era playthrough.

multi-tap should stay since it meets their overall goal of creating opportunities for people to group up and work with eachother.

Anything above Vanilla is retail.

I don’t though, I want classic with a small change to mining

>>>/era/

go back

You want retail, then.

Friction exists as a part of the design. They made a mistake removing friction for convenience and Forever is them creating a game that respects the positives that come from friction. Listen to how they speak on blizzcon panels and in interviews.

tedium is not friction

if you want all the easy mode QoL features that will turn this game into a slop fest, go to retail. /thread

It’s funny seeing people still crying “MUH #NOCHANGES” in 2026, for a version of the game specifically designed to change things

It’s not tedious though. I can be out adventuring - reach a node with another player and ask if they want to share it.

Thats a powerful experience that creates connection. It’s up to us to build and implement the culture around this and it works fine in classic era. I also like the multiple taps because it’s exciting to see what that next hit may give. A single tap is not nearly as fun imo.

having to click the same thing over and over is tedious
herbalism doesn’t have to do this

skinning doesn’t have to do this

why does mining?

it’s designed to be classic with extra content. The developers said at Blizzcon that WoW Forever is supposed to be a slow burn, like the way that Classic / Vanilla is. If that’s not for you, ie taking an extra 2 seconds to mine a node, then go. play. retail.
