Mining Deposits output

I’ve been gone from the game for a year and I’m curious about the output from mining. Now, even when I mine a “Rich” node, I only get one piece of ore. What gives? When you use to mine/harvest a node, you would get 2-3 on a regular node and anywhere from 4-7 on a “Rich” node, if you were lucky enough not to have the node disappear on you or tell you that you couldn’t loot the item. I don’t get it. Is Blizzard now becoming so damn cheap on harvesting materials payouts that they felt the need to make it even harder for a player to get the materials to get a profession leveled? If that’s the case, then it definitely wasn’t worth coming back to the game after being gone for a year. I could have spent my money on something better if I’d know that it was going to turn out to be not worth it. You guys need to go back and fix this, because it’s bull**** to pay $168.00 for a year’s subscription AND pay $77.00 for the latest expansion pack only to find out you’ll spend the next 24 hours just trying to get a stack of ore or whatever you’re harvesting/farming. Just sayin’.

------------ UPDATE -----------------
After going back and deleting the profession and re-adding it, I am now able to get more than one piece of ore, but I had to start over, but at least it’s working now.

---------UPDATE------------
Now getting the same as before only now with Skinning. Toon is at level 41 and in Northrend and only get one piece of leather per kill. Doesn’t matter what the kill is, it only pays out 1 Borean leather. That’s it. I guess I’ll delete Skinning and retry it again, but this crap is going to get old really quick.

Sorry you don’t understand changes that have happened. If you are gathering in the Dragon Isles, it’s dependent on your proficiency in the skill. When you are low you get 1-2. As your skill goes up you get more. And if you stack finesses talents/equipment you pull more than what rich used to give. My miners and herbalists are rolling in materials like never before. If you were gone for only a year you should have known about these changes already. In both BFA and SL it worked this way too (sans finesse).

+mining skill and +finesse

I regularly get over 10 or 12 ore per node.

You shouldn’t get 1 piece of ore even from a rich node even at skill level one… have you trained Dragonflight Mining? I don’t think you learn it automatically yet…

I was mining in Northrend, Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms and I noticed that the nodes were only awarding 1 ore at every node I mined with my level 34 character., Didn’t know anything about finesse talents being added to the profession as I noted in my post, I’ve been away for a year, so I haven’t kept up with changes, but still it shouldn’t matter on low-level toons, should it?

Ah no idea then on that one. I haven’t gathered old xpack mats in years. Thought you were talking about current xpack nodes. Probably bad interaction between the system and old content. Happens every time they revamp stuff.

No, I am working on my low level toons right now and the miners are only getting 1 ore per node, even though they are at like 50-60 something on the Northrend, Outland and Classic mining. Just sayin’.

hmm, that’s a weird one. is it every node you try to mine, or only a few? cobalt is the entry node from wotlk; are you still getting only one ore per cobalt node at 50 skill? i actually mine fairly often in northrend (saronite and titanium while doing the old jewelcrafting nodes) and i get the usual amount but my jewelcrafter is also a max level miner.

my thinking is that it might be that your alt’s mining skill is too low for specific nodes. in those expansion nodes were “locked” and couldn’t be accessed below a certain skill level - obviously you can now mine anything but the old invisible “lock” may be in effect behind the scenes. if your northrend mining is level 50, you may be too low to hit rich saronite and too low for titanium of any type.
