Unable to smelt Fel-Iron into bars. Just learned outland mining from a trainer but have no recipes in my skill book. The ability shows up under unlearned but none of the trainers in Outland seem to able to teach me. Been away for a long time and I’m not used to this new system.
It looks like you need to get your outland mining up to 50 before you can smelt it. If you go to a trainer you should be able to filter the options so it shows you what you dont know and at what level you can learn.
Are you saying the mining trainer won’t teach you this spell? Previously one needed a certain level of mining to do fel iron, not sure if that’s changed or not but I think it has.
Check your mining prof tab and perhaps play with the filters.
At lvl 50 I can smelt fel steel, which requires me to have fel iron bars. In the past you got the ability just by getting the outland mining skill. not sure what i have to do now.
May be a display error, try doing a search for “Fel” in the mining smelting window.
Well if it is like mining in Pandaria you can mine Ghost Iron Ore right after learning pandaria mining. It only goes to 75. You can’t smelt trillium until you are 75. Why you don’t let you learn smelt trillium at 50 is a mystery.

You get skillups for mining ghost iron even if they are grey - just not many of them, and you’ll also get skillups for mining trillium if you can find any but you’ll get nuggets.
There’s an engineer made item that will let you see “hidden” panarian nodes which will increase your rng opportunities.
