Greetings. I recently started to pay attention to my professions. This is more oriented toward upgrading jewel crafting.
When breaking down the ores, which is best, Bismuth, Ironclaw, Aqirite or something else?
I’m pretty sure Bismuth gives us the most bang for our buck in the AH, so I don’t think they would be a good candidate for breaking down. Also, what are the most profitable gems to sell on the AH?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice in this matter. May the Holy Light be with you.
Do not break down your Bismuth since you need that to craft many other things. You want to break down the other two, and each of those only give certian color gems with the other giving the other color. So you will need to break them both down over time. But Bismuth will always day higher value because you need it for everything, not just prospecting.
I have done Jewelcrafting since it came out in TBC and this has been the most painful expansion to date. Actual gems are finally starting to pick up in price, so I would focus on being able to cut them over the other lines starting out. I would guess others have better tricks, but it has been rough for me this time around.
I would honestly say at this point that it’s not really worth getting into prospecting your own ore. You are better off buying mats off the AH in order to level JC and make gems to sell.
If you still want to gather ore to fund it, then you are better off selling the ore on the AH.
Because if you aren’t fully specced into prospecting, plus have all your blue tools, you are going to lose money vs just selling your ore and buying the mats you need off of the AH.
