Wondering if location matters for mining and herbing? I can’t seem to find anything on wowhead on if specific herbs / ore only appear in specific locations or not.
I don’t think writhing ore or whatever can appear in dorn, but I think everything else does. I’ve yet to find a writhing herb node.
More the type of node that gives secondary items. Like Writhing or Crystalized. More Writhing in Azj Kahet for instance.
Yes and no. Luredrop and Orbinid are rarer in Isle of Dorn since they’re found underground/in caves, and Aqirite doesn’t show up until Hallowfall for miners.
Beyond one node not even being present in IoD, the only other real difference is the type of empowered nodes available; you aren’t going to find altered or weeping nodes until Ringing Deeps/Hallowfall.
Use a flask of truesight, and you will get camo Aqirite in Dorn

Have done a lot of herbing and mining. Here’s my experience…
- Isle
Ore - lots of bismuth and ironclaw. If you use phial of truesight a lot of aqirite.
Herbs - lots of mycobloom and blessing blossom. Some arathor’s spear concentrated in particular areas. If you use phial of truesight lots more arthor’s spear.
In terms of modifiers lots of crystallized and irradiated, and moderate amounts of ez-mine and webbed. (This is the same for every zone - it is only altered, spore infused and weeping that tend to be zone specific)
2, Ringing deeps
All types of herb and ore - though not a lot of aqirite. Lure drop tends to be concentrated high up in the north of the zone. Moderate amounts of spore infused spawns.
- Hallowfall
Mostly mycobloom and arathor’s spear.
All ore types.
Occasional weeping and sporeinfused spawns.
- Azj-Kahet
Very little blessing blossom or arathor’s spear. Very little ironclaw unless you use phial of truesight.
Best for spore infused and weeping / altered.
