My game freezes when I minimize it and sometimes doesn’t unfreeze, forcing me to restart it.
When I’m in the queue for an arena, battleground, or dungeon, I minimize the game until it pops so I can watch a movie. I’ve already missed a bunch of arenas because of this.
Yeah that’s most likely a driver crash. What version of directX are you running WoW with? What version GPU drivers are you using? What version of Windows and build are you on? (you can press start+r and type winver to open a window that shows the version)
A couple other things, depending on the above(mostly affects DX11 iirc):
Press start->type graphics settings->open it->change default graphics settings->turn ON “optimizations for windowed games”
After that, check the settings on your D:\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Wow.exe (in my case) by right clicking and going into the properties of it. From there, go to the compatibility tab and UNCHECK “disable fullscreen optimizations.”
There are a ton of other things that can cause issues like this, things like overlays from the 10000000000000000000000 common apps that have them.
