Mini diablo

hello Devs,

Will I be able to open Dolanaar’s gift voucher again like in 2004?. Can I enjoy the company of my beloved Mini diablo in Classic?.
Thank you!.

Not likely, the promo codes of the past that have already been claimed onto our Retail WoW licenses are no longer valid. And Classic will be in no way connected to Retail so I don’t see this happening. Is it possible they get re-issued, maybe, but dont hold your breath.

I was hoping my cards would work in booty bay or something. Oh well.

do a forum search for CE pets, there has been more than one topic about this and a blue responded to one. The current stance and info would be there.

Thank you Studmuffin, i was do a search before but the blue answer are unclear for me: “I would try to seperate in your mind retail and classic. Something you buy on retail shouldn’t give you something in Classic” but “It is an interesting thought though, that to some that did have it, that was a part of their classic experience” and "This is something interesting but nothing decided or concrete on it."
So, No mini diablos, no pandas, no zergling and no murkys living in azeroth?

i would say more than likely no, and i would not spend the thousands on a Murky code just for Classic, lol.

I’d hope Blizzard would let us keep our classic collectors edition pets. A little reward for those who stuck with them from the start.

Vanilla and classic should be separate.

This has got to be the same guy that was desperate for his Murky pet. Just a new sock puppet toon. Same lame “authentic experience” argument.

Do you want 100% real experience gaming in Classic?

We already arent. Not even close. Altered numbers, 1.12, etc.

Think of having certain things as vanilla achieves. Miss the boat the first time around, too bad.

You can keep them - over on the retail game where you redeemed them. The few promo cards I have seen specify they are linked with the account connected with the SERVER on which they are redeemed. You will be on a new server in Classic.

This argument holds no weight what so ever. The CE pets were a PART of your experience but they didn’t contribute at all to your gameplay experiences. Everything you did, got, accomplished would of still been possible.

If you think because you had it then it wouldn’t be authentic if you don’t have it now then I request Blizzard randomly d/c me while I’m running a dungeon to replicate my experience of that happening when my mom would pick up the phone.

Exactly.
The few people who are still playing and have their CE Box want their pets again because they were part of their experience in this game.
Those who do not have it think that should be a separate game…

If that happens then these pets will never be available.

I thought we were going for #nochanges? Removing those pets is a change.

You mean they’re not gonna do that? How the heck am I supposed to have my authentic experience of 2004?

CE Pets weren’t server restricted. Every toon created on the associated account was granted the choice of one out of the three non-combat pets.

That’s not how it worked for the CE pets. It checked your license key on account creation, and you got a CE pet for every toon on that account, on any server. Murky, the first promo pet, was a card with a code that was good once ever, for one character only. I hear they later made all pets linked to your account rather than a character, but that’s how it was originally.

I can sympathize with others who want their li’l friends back, as retail is not the same game that we started with, and it feels like they’ve been whisked away to some foreign land. But this is about as minor a detail, with good arguments for both sides, as I can think of.

In any case, I’m not undead, so I am not holding my breath over this issue. It’s a shame the Unending Breath spell only helps if you’re under water!

I have the CE pets, I’m not expecting the pets in Classic. In some respects, I’d be fine without them(more bag space!). That said, I’d be happier if I had them available again, but it won’t make or break things for me.

In the meantime, Fesz and Starman will be arriving in the thread in…
