My story begins about a month or two ago. I am Active duty Army stationed in the lovely state of hawai’i. I have been in the military for eight years; seven of those years with my beautiful wife. Today during dinner I had an epiphany. I’m a vegetarian and this is how it happened…
My wife is a vegetarian and she does all the shopping / cooking so apparently I’m a vegetarian as well. My entire life I’ve been anti-vegan / vegetarian. I Cherish meat. I eat my steaks medium rare but closer to the rare side. With all of that said I must admit that being a vegetarian isn’t that bad. She cooks the meals and it is healthy, fills me up, and I feel better about myself. Do you know the feeling you have after you devor that quarter pounder and a large fry? The feeling of regret, self loathing? That disappears when you eat healthy. I am getting older, 33 to be exact, and I am pretty fit thanks to the military. With that said I feel amazing and I owe it all to this diet.
To sum it up. My wife, the Love of my life. The mother of my four children mind controlled me in real life and I thank her for that. If you are having issues with weight loss or health in general try a change of pace. Put down the meat and grab some greens. If you are depressed or having issues in real life… I promise you it gets better. If you ever feel really down let me know and I’ll give you my bnet account information so we can chat. Sorry for the rant. I hope you guys have a wonderful night / morning.

I don’t think that’s called mind control. More like something-whipped. =)
Enjoy our islands while you’re here. Yes, fruits and veggies are plentiful here but so are the meats and fishies. Eat what makes you happy. Don’t stress.

Do you live in Hawaii? I’m going to miss it. I leave this summer. I’ve been here for 3 1/2 years :/.
While I support eating healthy
As a going vegetarian myself (meat makes me sick), people should eat what they want, as long as it doesn’t kill them.
Being a vegetarian/vegan isn’t for everyone

I agree 100 percent. There is a good saying that puts it into perspective. Eat to live don’t live to eat.

Sometimes it’s good to treat yourself. Just don’t do it to often

Absolutely. I have noticed my test levels seem to be higher too and I have more energy. I’m enjoying it. Also, there is a link between being a vegetarian and living past the age of 85. /shrug
Don’t doubt it. The nutrients in vegetables seem to help support your body to live longer

Absolutely! Science shows that eating meat takes longer for your stomach to send signals to your brain that it is full. With fruits and vegetables the enzymes react quickly telling your brain that you’re full. So you never get the filling of being “stuffed”.

Haha, for sure. Thanks for your input by the way. I want to spread some positivity. I have had four personal friends that I either deployed with or knew closely commit suicide in 5 years. I just don’t want anyone to feel that way.

Why don’t you tell that to the veterans with serious PTSD? There is a serious problem with veterans not getting the proper care and the suicide rates have been an average of 20 vets per day. Please go tell them it gets better rather than giving us false hope that everything gets better because it got better for you.
Thanks for your valued feedback skinwalker. Since you don’t know me, but like to jump to conclusion then you would already know that I have and I do. It’s 22 a day actually. The only fact you stated in your post is that vets do NOT get proper care. I’ve seen it first hand with my counselor. It’s a culture change we need to fix in the military.
It’s not false hope by the way. I’m not too sure why you’re hostile. Are you having issues? If so, let me know and we can chat in game or through bnet.

oh yeah thats all it is…just a culture change. Get real dude. And don’t nitpick numbers when I was just giving some rounded off average. Hey, but it all gets better because your wife mind controlled you. Got it chief!
Then what is it then if it’s not a culture change? Please explain. Don’t come up with a complaint without a solution.
Are you in the military or were you in the military?

Also…the planet isn’t big enough to support an American-style diet for everyone. We’re killing it, and eating big amounts of meat is not helping at all.
P.S. I eat plenty of free-range meat, which is (environmentally speaking) the worst type of all.

Have you ever thought for a second it could be…uh idk…what they have experienced and seen on duty? Nah, it must be the “culture”. Let us hope you never council any vets with PTSD.
You’re right about that man. The western diet is by far one of the worst diets. It’s the life style we live “bigger is better”
