Mind control... does not work

So, I was on the edge of the bridge in the center of the eye of the storm. A pally came up to me and attacked me.

So, first mind control, he interrupts me. Ok, fine.
Second mind control he stuns me. I use dispersion.
Third mind control, he interrupts me. Getting annoyed, but his cooldown are spent… right? Nope.
Fourth mind control he trinkets.
Fifth mind control he bubbles.
Sixth mind control, I use Psychic horror. Finally. I have him mind controlled. And 2 seconds later, it breaks because diminishing returns is a thing.
Seventh mind control, I fade. Hopefully I can not get hit by his interrupt this time. Nope. He interrupts.
Eighth mind control. He is immune. Presumably because of diminishing returns.

At this point he kills me.

This is a problem.
WHEN I AM STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS, MELEE SHOULD BE AFRAID TO ATTACK ME.

If I were head of pvp at blizzard, here are the changes I would make for spriests.

  1. Mind control is no longer shadow school.
  2. Mind control no longer shares diminishing returns with any other CC.
  3. Mind control cannot be interrupted once the channel portion has begun.
  4. For all classes- When you use an effect that breaks CC like bubble, trinket or ice block, your diminishing returns for ALL cc are reset.
  5. Improved fade causes all spells (including interrupts) to miss. Not just some spells. Yeesh.

The real problem is he didnt finish killing you by your fourth cast, sounds like a weak paladin who didnt know what they were doing. Diminishing returns is a thing because if it wasnt people would be CC’ed till the day they die. TBH many people still complain about to much CC time and that being the main reason they cant get into WoW PvP.

Yes the trick for a range to land a mind control is to stay at range. If you’re in melee range and you’re not fake casting, you’re not casting.

Maybe next time try not to depend on such a cheesy strategy.

Blizzard is telling you that using MC to kill ppl is naughty.

Oh look. A deathknight. Blizzard should remove your mind freeze spell. Or give me a spell on a 15 second cooldown that can disarm you for 5 seconds.

Stealth…

TL;DR I made a guy use his whole damn kit to beat my lame one hit kill button with no cooldown.

Dear Blizzard, please make Templar’s Verdict hit Priests for ten million damage.

Blizzard has stated many times that PvP Is balanced around groups and not 1v1. Plus you’re going up against the greatest dueling class in WoW currently. Paladins have high surviability, burst damage, healing, burst healing. Their only weaknesses is mobility and high sustain which mobility is the only weakness that affects them in pvp.

Shadowmeld->Mind Control = win

You deserved that bludgeoning, imo, for not doing that.

In vanilla I was mind controlled by a priest actually named Shaman_ (name had shaman in it and another letter) near the entrance portal and he ran me right out of the battle ground.

This was such a popular strategy that they removed the portals inside the BGs.

I didn’t realize mind control was still the go to move for PVP wins.

I don’t like running off mountains, so

I can still hear his voice in my mind.
