Millionth Post about Playable Naga

Look. Let’s be real.

Everyone wants them. They’ve wanted them since WC3.

The real question is how would they be instituted? What Faction would they be? Cause no matter what, someone’s gonna be unhappy if they’re on 1 faction.

I don’t personally think we’re ever gonna get them. But hey, whatever, I’d love to see it.

Best make them alliance, as for how make a grab bag of buzz words picl 20, plug them into a chat ai. Tell that AI to build a story of inclussion, bam script on par wth blizzard writers. Less spelling errors than my post probably.

I imagine Naga will be neutral, the race is hated by night elves who are on the Alliance and the Trolls on the Horde. Who knows how the Naga will be introduced.

Speak for yourself (so you can strike out the “everyone”). Regardless, both factions now have scale-covered critters to be in their ranks.

Yea that wasn’t literal, and you know that.

Make a mercenary city and give us naga, ogres and whatever else people want. No third faction just a big ol city.

I appreciate you acknowledging that both factions have people with a contentious history with Naga, rather than focusing solely on their relationship with Night Elves, like pretty much every other time I seen this topic.

I would rather have vrykul, yaungol, or a completely new race from another world. Because at least those actually have a realistic chance while, as I’ve pointed out in another naga support thread within the last 24 hours, naga having no legs is too massive of a hurdle to bother with for a game that was designed with the idea that every playable race would be bipedal.

Just can’t picture a Naga slithering around through forests, deserts and cities while being declared as the hero of the Alliance/Horde.

imagine a weird legless fishy worm thing trying to get onto a kodo, or a horse… or doing dragonriding

The real question is what would Scout Tomuul and the centaur do if they can’t call someone two-foot.

I don’t.

Therefore not everyone wants them.

The fact that I don’t want playable Naga means that your presumption of ‘everyone’ is invalid. I’d rather have Murlocs, and thats stretching the point.

They’d definitely be neutral.
I realise that the no legs is often considered a problem for mounts and stuff but you could maybe have em sort of wrap their tail around the mount or southing, or just have em sit sort of sideways with their tail off of one side.
In terms of transmog problems, Mechagnomes also ain’t got legs so it ain’t even an issue.

Y’all ain’t never heard of hyperbole huh.

I have absolutely zero interest in being a naga… so not everyone.

Some trouble will be the lack of faces and fins.

Let’s be real.

If they ever introduced a Naga concept, it would be some sort of splinter rebel group of unique “Naga” that were experimented with to have legs.

Ain’t no way you’d get the current Ashara worshippers we see.

They’d proabbly be Alliance.
Far more story potential with them there than Horde.

Void Elves are literally just goth / defected Blood Elves (Highborne) with a major connection to the void, and the most likely ally to be able to help them with any sort of needed redemption arc. If there’s any group that’d either reach out, or be reached out to, it’d be them.

Kul’tiran have legends of mermaids, and a connection to N’zoth. Easy kinship there once the Naga prove their allyship.

Highborne Night Elves are also something that the game’s been sleeping on for ages, and they could take a focus on introduction stories. (Let Mordent do things?)
There’s also that whole “renewal” thing they’re supposed to be dealing with right now. Nightborne, the original “highborne as a unique race” request also wound up going Horde, leaving the original request still fulfill-able with a twist in Naga.

There’s also the fanservice matter of WC3; Illidan is a Night Elf, and the Blood Elves are now Alliance via Void Elves. Having that whole trifecta all on one faction would be a treat, and a morale boost the faction desperately needs after years of wasted fanservice potential. (…or worse.)

Blood Elves also booted their own kin out of the country over void magic. They aren’t going to ally up with a different void race simply because Kael’thas was allied with them briefly at one point. They were the only group that’d likely connect them to the Horde, and uh… yeah, not anymore.
The other races would have little to no interest in them, especially with how the Vulpera were almost rejected, and especially with how the Naga we keep running into are still hostile to everybody.

Also, no more neutral races.
The Alliance needs something that’s actually requested and unique after Kul’tirans and Mechagnomes. Two worst represented races in the game by a landslide.
Horde get Ogres in exchange. Last two major RTS races that aren’t playable. They’re a perfect match.

Double also,
Legs don’t matter. Mechagnomes and Dracthyr exist for transmog, and they’ve already been depicted riding mounts sidesaddle in Hearthstone.

Ogres for Horde, Naga for Alliance, lessss gooooo
