No loot boxes in WoW. D3 real money ah was tried and abandoned years ago and how was that addictive anyway ?
I don’t see how any of that relates to the brutosaur.
And again what are you going to do about it anyway if you aren’t going to just sit there.
Ugh, I scrap 1k of those once a month for expulsion…it’s horrible…
isn’t it easier to buy a character boost in Taiwan realm, and then buy the gold there? You could save up $200, depending on how their prices oscillate, and end up with a 120 in another region.
Wait…
They’re removing it???
I already have it. Does that mean it will disappear from my mount collection?
There is another method that doesn’t involve scraping anything and returns all gold invested right away before you even post on the AH.
No. It won’t dissapear. It will be removed from the vendor so people cannot buy it in the future. It will then be part of the rotation in the BMAH where people will have the “chance” to buy it there.

Thanks for the info! Thought for a moment that I’d lose a 5 million gold mount!

Umm do you care to share?
I think the problem with this mount is 3 fold

This is the biggest one to me, but, if you look at all the other quote “prestige mounts” there are at least several other models in the game that match them. There were like 3 different versions of the mammoths, the others without vendors, but at the very least, there were other models to get. There is only ONE version of the brutosaur mount available in the game. Only ONE brutosaur mount. I feel that adding other brutosaur mounts to the table and removing the ah guys would be a nice solution for most players.

Inflation. The inflation in the games history, mostly stimming from Warlords of draenor, is rediculous. We went from 16 to 20 k in wrath being the median, and 10 years later its like 5 mill. It makes having 500 k gold make an average player look poor, especially with all these items that players are encouraged to buy. It is part of the game. As a player who had the travelers tundra mammoth in wrath, I can safely say it was way easier to farm out 16 k in wrath than it is to farm out 5 mill in bfa easily. I have never had more than 500 k gold in this game, and that was in wod. No doubt most players who have the brutosaur were mainly gold capped in wod. I knew several friends who had multiple max lvl toons as the cap at the time of wod. Wods most expensive mount was the 180000 gold bycycle for the alliance. Maybe i am wrong here, but thats what i remember. Open to criticism.

I don’t feel the prestige is worth the price tag. You only have this expansion to farm it out. No other prestigious mount in this game has been worth this much from a vendor before, not even close. Pair this bullet with my first one, but in recent expansions, reskins and recolors have become increasingly less common. i feel this would quell the hearts of many players is they just had a few reskinned brutosaurs to the game, but took away the vendors. I dont have the gold or the time, so i most likely wont have this mount. Its just not worth it to me. My first bullet point i think would solve the problem more or less.

Should have put more work into getting the mount during BFA. /s
Meanwhile a substantial portion of the mounts were bought within the first month of BFA (realistically day 1) primarily with Legion gold.
Except that quote said they didn’t want to see “AH mounts” become common. They actually said nothing about not wanting the brutosaur model to become common.
I honestly think that if they put a plain version on the vendor, it wouldn’t ever become a “common” mount. It would be something players work toward for their collection, and then it would probably not be used all that often (especially without the vendors). Even if they cut the price in half (which would still be more than the spider mount) I doubt many more would buy it.
But I still feel players should have the option to buy one. Having something expensive to save up for is a good thing. Taking away items people were saving for is a discouraging thing.

I’ve never been able to get gold in this game.

This is why it’s prestigious, it’s expensive and unique. Adding recolours would ruin the entire attraction of it. If someone wants the mount, they should get better and get the gold to buy it, rather than wait for a charity version because they weren’t good enough to earn the real thing.
a year isnt long enough???
really?
I can’t imagine thinking this way. How many people do you see running around on yaks and mammoths anyway?
I dunno how “good” you had to be to play the garrisons and class halls in WoD and Legion. You people are acting like this is some Mythic raid mount that requires actual skill.

Blizzard doesn’t consider the mount design to be an issue, it’s the AH vendor sitting on the back of it. That’s all they’re concerned about, and it’s why they’re removing it from the vendor (though why they don’t think we need to be told about it I don’t know).

Not for me, sweetie. Seriously. I had a plan I made at the start of the expansion that would have allowed me to acquire the necessary gold by the end of the next expansion. In other words, in four years. This was workable for me based on how I play, and it was completely reasonable to my mind.
I don’t need a mobile AH, I just wanted a giant sauropod mount. Still, despite the outrageous price, I was willing to work for it since it was the only model option available. And now I can’t get it because someone at Blizz was worried there would be too many mobile AH’s in the future.
I would be mollified if they went ahead and gave the vendors one or more of the many other brutosaur mount models they’ve already developed, even if it still took me another three years to earn it. (Though I confess, if it doesn’t have the AH on it, it really shouldn’t cost quite as much.)

What they need to do is keep the mount in for the 5 million gold and add other gold sink mounts or items to the game.
By giving players choice on what they spend their gold on they keep it rare and by keeping it in the game they keep the players satisfied.
Players can continue to strive toward their chosen gold sink they want to get.

I disagree. It would be like seeing a person on a ivory raptor. Or a green kodo. definitely not used to seeing those colors of kodos or raptors because they are so rare, but at least it still feels good for those players that have them, and for those players looking at them, wishing they had them. I have a great grey kodo. Not as cool or rare, but it doesnt devalue the model to much.
I mean, with this single brutosaur mount here, most players have no access to it. There should be a few other reskins, without the vendors. Then those players whoi have this would have the prestigious skin, and the ah vendors on it, along with the unique color. I feel blizzard should make the color and the vendors prestige, not the whole mount itself.
