Midsummer Event

I don’t post very often in the forums but I am going to post my distaste for this style of shenanigans. I am transmog collector that really enjoys that sort of thing. This 1x a day chance to get something that may not drop for you ever during the “LIMITED” time event is beyond me.

I love this game, but there are moments that make these events a pain in the neck. I pay for a game for I can play with stuff. This RNG for a cosmetic… Do better Blizzard

I do not care if I get negative reviews or you don’t agree.I have played this game since WoTLK and having items that are so limited in an event that is time sensitive… and yes I get… “There is always next year.”

That isn’t good enough… nor should it be. Not over a bloody transmog…

Yeah, I’m going to miss half the event, because it’s a holiday and I won’t be in town for it. So I have half the chances and stuff stopped dropping after day two.

Holidays should not be rare RNG drops, imo.

With the changes they did last year, its better than it was. For every day I did it, I got a reward except for today.

Check this out…

I witnessed in one group a guy looting both Scythes in one run… so this guy got in one run… both to drop… of the new items… There is something wrong here.

I ran this thing on 10+ characters before I found out that your loot chance was off of once a day…

((It almost feels like they don’t want us to enjoy the stuff they make…))

Got an item on day 1 and thought it was gonna be fine. Nothing since then. Starting to doubt the chances of getting the single item I want within the 2 weeks.

I guess it’s time to try the 4x free trial accounts + 1 char who can solo the fight. Just like with the valentine’s box. Cheat for 5 simultaneous chances because that’s the only thing that works.

I’m curious if the bad luck protection resets when you get 1 drop… up until now there’s never been more than 1 new chase item in these bags. Having 5 at once is rough. I’ve done it every day and only got 1 drop so far.

well people cried about being ‘forced’ to run it multiple times per day on alts and here we are.

If only there was a vendor and a currency that could be used instead of locking multiple things behind a once per day RNG that can only be done 14 times total.

Shame they completely forgot about those, moments after adding several new items and all the Khaz Algar sources of currency.

The higher 1x per day for ultra rare items was a good change.

It’s really dumb that we can’t just buy them off the vendor for 150-300 of the holiday currency.

But I would bet blizzard see’s this as a way to keep people playing and paying for another year hoping to get it next year.

As always vote with your money its the only thing that matters.

Eh. I’m kinda over it to the point where I’m actually glad it’s only a once per day chance. It means I don’t have to waste time spamming alts in the queue.

Maye just also add it to the vendor for bad luck protection for like 500 of the currency.

I’ve gotten nothing since day two. And I’m gone for half the event.

Low RNG droprates should not be a thing for once a year holiday events. It’s not fun.

Three days in a row I got nothing but snowballs and currency in the bag before finally getting a polearm. Would be nice if Blizzard would put these on a vender so you can decide if you just want to do first boss kill of the day RNG or straight up pay for the item with currency.

I like there is stuff to do, but I definitely don’t like the RNG. Opposite of FFXIV lol. Nothing to do, no RNG.

What would be great is stuff to do, and controlled reasonable RNG (predictability). :stuck_out_tongue:

I think there is a wish to ensure that people are running it the entire time, but I think WoW can sit at a table and come up with a few core ways to do that… which are also more fun and less wishywashy. In addition to new ways to pace, also consider addressing the whole alt thing or at least I guess to me its weird that you have basically a force to play an alt if you want to go faster (and due to the items being warbound its not like before where that meant something other than being forced to play an alt), due to that as well, imo, the tokens should just be in a warband wallet (doesn’t need to be transferred because its a shared wallet).

Tokens is often a solid one (so instead of pure RNG you can also purchase stuff), and you can mix that like what they did for 20th anniversary (growing currency rates, if you want an upwards curve and slow start), or perhaps providing secondary values to currency to ensure that the strong currency rate doesn’t kill the content: like you can purchase rerolls to your vault with that currency, unique and helpful items (ranging from like prevent potions and food lost on a death), allow KP catchup. Or strong, clear, in built failure safety nets like each occurrence of no unique item you get a token, 3 tokens combined to force a unique (new to you) drop.

Also consider stuff like “catch-up” mechanic on one time per day runs (so if you missed 5 days you could run the dungeon 5 times in a row). Or like instead of some holidays overly encouraging alt farming, increase the exp reward and perhaps drop equipment (or items like the delve map, which add pertinent equipment drops to dungeons/timewalking), but also allow other characters to rerun that content too (like Valentines where you were encouraged to alt farm, if you want to farm on your main… I think you should be able to, especially as the tokens are going to be unlocking warbound stuff anyways).

RNG makes the game more fun. If not RNG on cosmetics on what then? You don’t NEED a ‘bloody transmog’, you played since WoTLK without it just fine.
