Midnight Talanji

Do you guys think Blizz will remember Talanji and the Zandalari when it comes to the Amani in Midnight? Or will she take a backseat if there is the possibility that Alliance will be involved? Unless her hatred is solely focused on Jaina and the Kul Tirans.

Talanji can’t exist without character assassination because Jaina is one of WoW’s main characters and they’re allergic to faction conflict.

Her options are to remain MIA or get hit with the Aethas stick.

Edit: I suppose option 3 is becoming an unhinged villain like Hathorel despite exceedingly legitimate grievances.

Blizzard always remembers Talanji.
They remember not to use her because she’s Horde and anti Jaina/the Alliance.

I would like if Talanji and the Zandalari were involved in the Midnight Amani storyline.

It is my sincere hope that Talanji is involved in aiding the Amani and to possibly foster peace negotiations between them and the Blood Elves.

Thalyssra and Talanji have developed cordial relationship in their short time on the Horde Council and I can easily imagine Thalyssra calling upon Talanji for her counsel on the Amani.

Jaina better take a significant backseat in Midnight; disappear into the background to restart her Kirin Tor.

There are a lot of characters on the roster and that is just counting the Alliance.

I can see us visiting the Amani as the first new patch zone.

If they don’t ignore the trolls, and don’t make them enemies (not good odds IMO) there probably will be some statement someplace that they are connected to the Zandalari. Talanji might get 5 seconds.

Remember, Midnight will be about Alliance characters.

I have my doubts that they’ll remember the Amani in Midnight.

I would kinda be disappointed if the Amani were still relevant in Quel’thalas in Midnight. It was already bad enough, that the scourge remnants were still a large deal. Two raids on their bolstered stronghold, they probably dealt with scourge remnant too, and active killing whenever they encountered the elves.

Are we returning to the ‘we need a troll patch this expansion’ again in Midnight?

You see the problem with Talanji is her character arc would end only if she is allowed to kill Jaina as revenge for Rastakhan. But Jaina is the writers pet and has thicc plot armor so Blizzard will just ignore Talanji until something troll related happens in the story. That is the sad truth.

Why wouldn’t they be relevant, its an expac in their homeland, they are still living there

I’m pretty sure there will be a story involving the dead faceless one under Zul’Aman. The TWW prelaunch questline with Alleria chasing Xal through Northrend had some void elf scouts say they felt void energy gathering near ZA. Would not be shocked if the Amani leader makes a deal with it and the story is yet another rebellion Suramar retread.

If the Amani cana void the villain bat I will eat my shorts.

I guess it depends on whether Blizzard remembers the dead C’thaxxi that is buried under Zul’Aman. Cause I have no doubt that if he is going to be appearing in Midnight, the Amani will as well for obvious reasons.

Given that a powerful minion of the Void is buried underneath Zul’Aman, there is a high chance the Amani will appear.

My hope is that it is only a minority that end up as antagonists. Probably a group that seek to use the voids invasion as an opportunity to reclaim their lands from the Blood Elves. Maybe even allying themselves with the void and resurrecting the dead C’thaxxi in the process.

The Order of Night in TWW shows that even a society that is full of light fanatics can have the occasional dissenter that rejects the dogma of the majority in favour of serving their sworn enemy.

I think the Amani will appear and be one of the major faction reps for the launch cycle. Odds are the city/some of the tribe are corrupted or join the void, and we aid the survivors that are going against them.

I would expect Talanji and/or Rokhan to help lead those negotiations, hopefully alongside Revantusk help. But either way we will see Amani and im interested to see what they do.

I would not be surprised, also disappointed.

I hope the Amani can avoid the villain bat this time. They deserve it.

I remember there was some scuttlebutt about Talanji possibly being in The War Within, because they used her model as a place holder….

Meanwhile, it was just that Blizzard remembered she existed enough to use her as a place holder for that Rowena lady or what ever her name is. That new Dirt Elf Troll broad.

Not gonna lie playable forest trolls would make me quit all my other characters I have. They will surpass Zandalari in popularity and might lure in the RTS fans who quit after Cataclysm.

I foresee Talanji being included in Midnight in one of two ways.

The first (and more palatable) would be in the capacity as the Queen of the Zandalari to negotiate with the remnants of the Amani to save their homeland from the Void, even if it means indirectly aiding their hated enemies, the elves. This would be assuming the Horde would get an Amani/Forest Troll Allied Race. I could see her being very aggressive in discussions with the Horde council, and particularly Lor’themar.

The second (and sadly more likely) would be her and Jaina palling around slaughtering Amani by the hundreds and Talanji spouting lines such as, “I see now that I was wrong. Hatred is never right. These poor deluded sad little savage monsters are proof of that. There is no redemption for them. All we can do now is put them out of their misery. I’m so grateful you were able to show me where hate leads, Jaina, thank you.”
