One of the things I like about legion remix is gear will just say +5% crit, +5% haste, etc.
Can retail wow just say how much stats it gives you even if its a decimal like +3.465% or whatever rather than having some arbitrary value such as +14353 crit you have to calculate to figure out how much you really get
They can’t do this because of how they have scaled stats for classes (and the fact stat DR exists on retail).
i.e Chronowarden Augmentation Evoker will have 11% mastery from 21000 mastery. The same amount will give a significant amount more on my Mistweaver Monk or even my evokers other specs.
1: Is that as Elk said, mastery isn’t actually the same conversion for every single spec. This is why there aren’t even any % mastery increases in the game itself. It’s all numerical.
But if they do this,
how would elitists justify their third party addons and portals,
they have to show casuals they know more somehow?
Please think of those elitists, they gotta feel superior in someway.
I always wanted to get an item and see, this one gives 2% crit,
instead it gives 4567 - 2352 in crit (pleaes go to our portal to see what this actually does).
i mean, it does do that already? your 1400 crit/haste/mastery rating is converted to a X % that is in your character panel.
Classic era has few stats but thats also why soo many specs are completely useless for PvE or PvP.
I don’t like the flat % on my gear in remix to be honest Ilvl upgrades only increase main and stam instead of secondaries until a break point, but I think loot should have a selectable display. Say an item has 1k haste and 1500 mastery.
Your class needs 1k haste per 1% and 750 mastery per 1%. You could have it displayed either as flat number or haste 1% and mastery 2%.
We used to have % based stats, way back in ye olde days.
Blizzard switched from % crit/hit/whatever, to rating to future proof gear/systems. You could probably find an addon or weakaura that automatically converts ratings into an appropriate %, but you’d still fall into the same issue of needing to plug it into a computer to figure out if 1.56% Haste and 1.23% Crit is better than 1.63% Haste and 1.15% Mastery rating.
Sort of. Bliz broke their own rule there so skyfury is actually 2% of mastery points, which can be anything from 1% mastery to 6% mastery depending on spec.
