I copied some characters to the Midnight PTR and, when I log onto to them, all of their action bars are empty including things like favorite mounts and hearthstones.
Is this what we can expect to happen when the pre-patch goes live on January 20th?

Last few major patches, my talents were reset but not my action bars, instead I got a few ? Icons for spells that were deleted. Eventually I think they changed to just make those spells darker.
I think it is the copy thing for the PTR, did you copy binds too?

yes, I did.
Do you use an action bar addon in any degree? If you do, your hotbar placement data doesn’t transfer with a character copy as it is saved to the addon not to your account.
Either way, you can get MySlot on live and PTR, export from live and import on PTR. Takes all of a minute or two.

Yep, same thing happened to me. However, that also happened to me on Beta (not just PTR-Midnight), so I assumed it’s expected behavior because the the “copy character” and “copy account data” do not seem to pick up action bar assignments (or even the saved loadout for Edit Mode… it did copy over my saved loadout, but I had to go in and select it).
It’s a test server so I wouldn’t worry too much about it (although it is annoying to have to copy your bars from live). I also do NOT expect your action bars to get wiped when Pre-Patch goes live on the 20th; I’m pretty sure it’s just an issue with the test realms.
