There’s currently a couple concerns/issues I have with professions.
Starting first with tools and accessories with enchants of TWW still being used as they provide more secondary stats. This doesn’t seem like it should be intended.
Leveling blacksmithing currently it’s starting to feel like Vanilla where this is requires multiple days of farming to get your profession up as the cost to level it up in term of mats is rather high with levels 60+ being mostly only very costly craft.
Then comes my issues with the elemental motes that come from gathering, those are already nearly worthless. Having a way to buy other mats with them could make those more useful, I wouldn’t dislike being able to buy satchel of ores/herbs/skins with them.
More precisely about herbalism wild nodes are lackluster with many preferring to simply fly away rather than to kill lashers as they only drop wild motes. The same is not true for mining wild nodes as those have their oreling dropping wild motes and also ores while killing those still take time and is often deemed not worth by some because of it.
Both wild herbs and mining nodes have also the issues that the overload spawn a bigger monster (one of the loa spirit) which only gives a meek 5 min buff for 150 perception which again is not really worth the time investing in killing that mob and would feel better if they dropped ores/herbs.
I’ve also been told that Tailoring specialization for gear like hats didn’t give skill points for your hat crafts. *Mostly because of how more confusing new trees are specializing doesn’t give you skill points you need to get nodes in multiple different trees
Then petrified roots seems to be having the same problems as other delves ressources early on in Tww, I think it might be fair to give alchemist a daily cd or something to craft them considering transmutation based on motes might simply not be that much interesting with the abundance of motes.

To add more to the list stat gems outside of meta gems currently are very close in term of budget to TWW ones making TWW gems still a very strong option even in Midnight. This probably should be much higher if not doubled.
*Edit this has been fixed.
Agree the motes seem like they have extremely low value and the petrified roots feel like too much.
Good enchanting recipes requiring mats from daily skinning lockouts makes them feel too expensive. Maybe that is just something that will change with time but at least right now it feels rough.
Cooking:
[Impossibly Royal Roast] currently does provide also 98 stamina making it as good as the more costly options. It is not shown on the craft but the buff and character reflect the increased stamina.
This isnt a problem.
The vast majority of intended drops come from Delves. Once the season starts there will be plenty of them on the AH. Forcing the price down.
Is this meant to be a statement of personal gripe or a fundamental game issue?
I dont expect the markets for most commonly shared crafting materials to come down for a few weeks. Be patient.
Most of this post listings of whats “in need of fixing”, I think are just frustrations of not being able to completw (x) now.
Petrified roots aren’t a huge problem but still the sources are rather limited and we’ve seen in the past issues with this kind of items in War within already. Moreover it is also a comment linked to alchemy transmute which to me with motes being this easy to get isn’t really in a good situation.
As for professions it is both as I would consider leveling a profession something that should be doable in a reasonable time without having to rely on the market. Many of them are so professions like blacksmith are more an exception to me. This is not a statement about price but how I see professions in world of warcraft and it is fine to disagree on this but yes I would still consider it enough important to post about it else I wouldn’t.
My point of view sees more professions as a personal goal and something I use mostly for myself to not be dependent on others as someone that is a fan of the “solo self found” concept as I like doing my own stuff with my own work.
Supply and Demand.
We are at the very beginning of brand new content. Where everyone is in need of materials. Almost every player to some degree.
The baseline mechanics of the profession system rely on other players. It has for decades, to a point.
I find the notion of these labels I see in so many threads of how broken things are, fixes / changes are required. When its simply the player that doesnt grasp why some of these topics arent in need of any change.
Not for the reasons listed.
Not to this point and no not exclusively at least since a long time, I do not remember it being as big of a burden since Vanilla and even then this seems longer than leveling a profession in Vanilla. Like I said we will disagree. If you got arguments why this shouldn’t happen other than “this is fine so I don’t care” then feel free. But this is the 2nd time this happen on this forum and at this point I do not understand our interactions.
My feedback is motivated from my different perspective and I explain why. If your perspective is going against then you’re free to explain why any change would make it worse as I do not see how making professions levelling something you can achieve in a reasonable time solo something bad for the game.

I am questioning the validity of points made. Which dont make any sense.
Its an open forum. For discussions.
Points being still that just saying for you that “it’s not that big of a deal” isn’t advancing the discussion it’s trying to stop it. Again, if you have something against making profession friendly for players preferring a different playstyle because it impacts you negatively I’m all hears for it but else this is just shutting down the discussion because you do not share that perspective.

As someone who has leveled every profession besides alchemy and gathering this expansion, some of the professions just feel incredibly unbalanced when it comes to progression.
Prices are thankfully starting to come down on the purple materials required for some professions, but they are still significantly more expensive than others. For example, blacksmithing and engineering tools and things require majestic hides/fins/claws, while some professions like inscription do not. That just makes the cost of some professions far more expensive to level up and even just making things to sell.
I’m not sure why there is such a large disparity between some of them.

Another minor thing to add about jewelcrafting is currently how bad prospecting and gem crushing feel. I feel specializing into those should increase your odds of getting more gems and others more drastically as it feels rather largelly consuming currently.
