They gave us dragons, and there has been a continuous uproar because they lack customization features or clear body types…Ethereals would be the same, but really worse because no visage form
This is another example of players thinking they want something, but they really don’t
Dracthyr have more customization than any race, they still suck because the base model sucks. Doesn’t matter how much lipstick you slap on a pig, it’s still a pig.
Yeah most of the Allied races should just be customizations of their legacy counterparts. At least Void Elf let me pretend to be Blood Elf on Alliance and I guess Vulpera is cool if you’re into that thing.
Yeah, at the risk of being a wet blanket, it feels like there’s been a similar argument for at least one race every patch since the start of Dragonflight.
(I struggle to reconcile my desire to both collect every playable race and actually play all my alts, but that shouldn’t be a reason other people can’t have fun things)
All allied races other than Vulpera (actual unique race), Void Elf / Nightborne (cross faction races) and Kul Tiran (totally unique model) should have been barber shop options.
Heck, Lightforged should have been a barber shop option for all races. Before Legion turned them into an army of like 4 draenei a naaru and a dreadlord, The Army of The Light was supposed to be a galaxy-spanning coalition of races united by The Light to stand against The Legion. They should be eager to lightforge anyone that’s willing to take the trials.
It wouldn’t happen. Too much effort. The feedback from the design team even just for Kul-Tirans is that doing the skeleton stuff made it significantly harder to make than other races.
