Midnight Dev Panel VOD

It’s been 2 hours since panel happened and I know they said the VOD would be posted shortly after it finished but it’s still not up. What’s the hold up Blizzard? I’m holding off on pre-ordering Midnight until I see what you all reveal about it since gameplay video did NOT manage to sell me enough on the expansion yet.

I don’t know who’s like me on this but personally, they NEED to sell me on buying this expansion at all still cause I haven’t seen enough to get me as excited for it like past expansions did on day 1 reveals.

Yeah, I’m surprised it hasn’t been uploaded yet, I think it only lasted half an hour and has been done for about 2 1/2 hours.

We’re 3 hours in and still no vod :sob: I think I’ve seen the entire panel via photos on twitter at this point, so I’m not even sure there’s any point left in watching.

Well, it’s gonna take some time to go back and watch that two hour VOD so that they can delete anything they didn’t intend to say that got accidentally recorded so that when it does get posted people don’t hold their feet to the fire on something that was incorrectly stated. I think they’ve learned their lesson after 20 years of dealing with you people.

Isn’t it only 30 mins? I feel like it should have been up already, maybe something went wrong in the recording process. But again I feel like I’ve already seen everything on social media so I don’t feel like there’s much to be gained at this point

I did content creation for the better part of two years so the easiest way to think of it is during the editing process. You add 10 minutes for every 30 seconds of video and in some cases it will be longer others. It will be shorter, but unless you’re just simply posting it as is, it usually takes a lot longer in the editing process than it does in the recording process. On an average of 30 second redeem of video content would take me almost 3 hours to create because I needed to add in all of the layers and the extra special stuff. If they’re not going to edit anything out, then it’s as simple as pressing a button and uploading it to the site.

My own feeling is if it’s gonna take a ton of time to upload a video of the panel, they probably should have just livestreamed it to begin with, imo.

I mean, they were in a pretty noisy event. So it’s entirely possible they could have the sound engineers working to remove some of the background noise. They also probably wanted displayed together the images of what we’ve done so far with some of the images of where we are going so that you’re not just staring at their faces the entire time. There’s a quality level to presenting something when you want someone to be excited about it and staring at some mostly bald dude for 30 minutes ramble on in the same monotone voice is not gonna drum up business.

Pretty sure it’s all on Wowhead already anyways

They are timegating the VOD obviously

That’s fair, I suppose. I just think that it’s also poor for business if they kinda kill all the hype by having everything from the panel already known by everyone hours and hours before they release the video.

Likely just editing out the spicy questions so only rehashed info is posted

Did they do another Q&A? We need another red shirt guy to go off the cuff and ask them what is going on.

I wanted to avoid seeing from attendees’ POV cause everything looks awful from cameras but at this rate, probably only way we’re getting to see all the info ourselves since Blizzard is not streaming or posting VOD fast enough. By looks of it, almost nothing new was revealed in the panel that wasn’t in the gameplay trailer. Guess we’ll see how Saturday’s panel turns out cause I still have no interest to buy Midnight yet.

Yeah, the big news is that Silvermoon will be partially blocked to Alliance, I think that’s about it.

and the customizations for new race which for me is of no interest yet.

Yeah, I was hoping we’d learn about new features, not just more details about already-announced features. Alas. Maybe we’ll get more stuff later, but for now, I’m not too pushed about watching the vod at this point.

Here’s hoping the dev panel on Saturday goes better! I still am clinging to hope.

I think the bigger question is why don’t they have a weekly broadcast on a twitch or YouTube channel from blizzard HQ giving us updates for that week and covering all of the things that are coming very soon? It’s an absolute missed opportunity. They could lock down the chat so that there’s not a bunch of spam and weirdos in there And simply put out a 20 minute broadcast once a week highlighting everything that’s coming in the patch or maintenance and then giving a brief glimpse at something coming new in the next season or expansion. They don’t even have to use anybody famous and I’m sure they could probably even get a hold of a current twitch or YouTube streamer who would do it completely for free.

Finally gets posted after 7 hours… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHa5CDWYtXg
