Yes thats true, but personally I disliked the idea of having to choose from two major cooldowns.
And yes you could pick as VW was good in the raid and archon was good in M+.
Since one of them is getting removed and the otherone is getting gutted with the removal of Void Bolt they should just rework the entire CD as a whole.
It’s possible Voidweaver won’t even take it in its current state. Unless they add a talent to Voidweaver to make Void Form not suck, at which point why not just make it not suck baseline?
I liked the rhythmic gameplay of voidform and I’m disappointed we’re going back to something much more priority driven with long periods of filler spam.
Yeah, if that is the goal of these changes, then Shadow will be dead on arrival.
They could start by not putting everything behind cooldowns.
Voidbolt/Volley are locked inside Voidform. Currently, Volley is tied to Torrent.
AoE, Mastery, Spirits, and N’zoth are locked behind our DoTs (which do nothing on their own).
Both trees are locked behind cooldowns as well as abilities you just press on CD to not mess up the timing, like Torrent and Halo.
There’s so much baked into other abilities that the spec feels terrible when you don’t have access to the full kit.
You shouldn’t feel the NEED to always be in your big cooldown or pressing other CDs. Sure, it should matter damage-wise, but rotation-wise it shouldn’t be required.
can’t even call it void priest with the Tentacle obssesion and all these insanity. The thematic design itself is litterally insaine, no sense of direction.
Light to holy, like void to shadow. If they can just mix the too – shadow and cosmic void, it will feel better. thats one issue down.
Next is this obsurdity of having every past shadow spec itteration forced into the tree.

I’m just curious why Sanity is still a thing. Isn’t the only spender Devouring Plague? Just give charges of DP after casting a few spells or something.
This spec feels like it’s identity has been dropped so many times and now they don’t even want to try

I’ve seen publik’s video and it looked good, this is alpha, there are still some talents missing. Voidweaver is still locked, so can’t have a full analysis.
i think people just exaggerating a bit. ITs always been bad. People just simply accepted it for what it was so every expac we come back to the same scenario.
when has this ever felt good. THey just fix the numbers and move on. The whole design needed a redesign. Im just waitting for this to be the expansion to do it.
Hopefully we get a real patch notes for SP soon
people dont want to realize that we didnt get the mage treatment straight out of patch 1.
We got just scraps. we need to use this moment to voice our thoughts and concerns for when they really do the SP patch. If they do it… hopefully they do…
If a major draw for you is the rhythm of the voidform rotation (Not the overly busy version with archon right now, but the core 4/4 rhythm) then that’s gone completely.

I’ve also seen some parts of it. Nothing in our rotation seems to be changing except for the loss of Void Bolt which is gonna hurt.
Void Volley is locked behind VoidForm instead. Voidform as a whole still looks very weak compared to other cooldowns, and it still has a cast time.
PL is still our only form of AoE with nothing thats going to change the rotation in Aoe scenarios.
PI still in the game which still needs 2 nodes to make it good and is proabably still classed as a “utility”.
Shadowfiend and mindbender is weridly enough still in the game.
I just feel like there is to much left in the spec that should’ve been removed.
just will summarize my dislike, which also adds to similar dislike of the current class design before Midnight.
Spells don’t have weight and my CDs shouldn’t hold my power.
Talent tree filled with unessary bloat, especially in the beginning.
Unessary spells added that conflicts with current fillers and class design – Example Mind spike vs mindflay.
Voidform and archangel – voidform was already kinda of doing that with shadowform
unnessary pet build dropped into it.
Last capstones, for most part, kinda suck as a capstone.
Voidweaver is cool but disc is able to enjoy it more than the actual shadow spec. Making void torrent the activater was lame before i got to actually use it, lame during using, and will be lame in future if its kept.
Phantams are cool idea but sometimes they feel meh. The void phantams might change that and make them feel more impactful. but here is where design sucks. Why do we have 1000 talents for phantams just to make it do something? lmao remove this bloat… PRUNE & REDESIGN.
Archon. I was expecting more from archon then simple halo. So i pretty much don’t like this hero tree. I would of prefer a asccendant form or something more cooler.
I can go on and on.
