I guess it’s more the “tempo” I am worried about. I never gave a second thought to trying Templar Strikes because I liked just having to focus on BoJ and Judgement. Consolidating HoW into Judgement is a neat idea for sure, but my issue with Crusader Strike has always been feeling like I have to be constantly spamming that button. I don’t mind filler spells for other specs. Like Incinerate for Destro warlock is fine. I don’t like how the projectile slithers across the ground instead of bee-lining straight towards the target, but that’s an entirely separate issue.
The reason I prefer having less filler for Ret is because I feel like it frees up more mental bandwidth so I can focus on my stuns, interrupts, heals, defensive CDs, etc. Basically anything that is not my attack chain. Whereas on a caster class there’s less of those other buttons, but also no pocket heals to throw at my party members.
